Transition Life: T letters, starting T, Doc apts
Well things are looking sort of good for me the only thing is I have to get on some payment plan to cover Dr. Hayon appointment in Madison on August 24th. But good thing is I will have 2 therapist T letters and my health insurance will cover T when I get on it. The only thing I would have to pay out of pocket is the visits to Dr. Hayon. I spoke to her nurse and she haves worked with transgender patients before in prescribing T. So now I'm just waiting for her nurse to call back and tell me how many times I have to see her cause this can get expensive for me. So it's a process I probably won't start T until September. But I'm happy my transition is moving forward. My life and financial situation hasn't been so great, so in the near future will be looking for a new job and hopefully new surroundings. Other than that I'm just working 3 jobs everyday and living life the best way I can .

Glad some things are progressing for you - and yes, it gets expensive. Good your insurance will cover the cost of T - hope they also cover the cost of blood tests needed to keep a close watch on how your liver and the rest of your body responds to the T. Once your T levels are set, you won\'t have to see the endocrinologist as often - but will always need the bloodwork done; on a regular basis.
Thanks joedulin. Right now everything going good. I actually found a doctor in my network that\'s willing to be my pcp But she doesn\'t prescribe T but she said this guy who is a endocrinologist can and he agreed to take me on as a patient so this is good for me! Less expensive. And yes all the blood work etc is cover I pay nothing for that and the T will either cost $6 for generic or $10 for brand so I have really great insurance lol
