Changes and depression in 2011
This year there will have to be changes in my life. These are the things that make me depressed on top of my menopause. I haven't had a period for three months, get hot flashes, night sweats and am moody. I don't have a job. I get my resumes out, get the interview but do not get a concrete job offer. I am 55 years of age so that could work against me. My brother Don encourages me saying he knows people in their 60s that still get work. I am looking for a receptionist job so maybe I have to do something else. I don't know what as I have been a receptionist for all of my working career. If I don't get a job soon, I will have to think of where else to live and might possibly have to sell the apartment. The apartment is another story. I have life interest in the apartment. If I sell I get the first $65000 plus 1/3 of what is left between Smokey's 2 girls and me. Smokey died without a will. I don't recommend it. The Government takes control when a person dies with no will. The Government has their own rules and regulations about a person dying without a will. People I know say get it into your own name as I was his common-in-law wife for ten years. This will take a lawyer and I have no money. I bet I might have to sell before I ever see a lawyer about getting the apartment in my name. This all sucks. These are the reasons why I am having a most difficult time sleeping through the night like I used to before all these difficulties. All the best from Diane B.

I am sorry you are going through all this, Diane. Insomnia can be part of menopause too. If you do not know about it, black cohosh works wonders for some women in menopause by easing all the symptoms you mention. I used it and it worked great for me. You can find it in the vitamin section. It is a plant product. Good luck with the interviews! Hugs, Patti
I just dwell on all my problems and then I can\'t sleep.
Last night I fell asleep during the Vancouver Canucks Hockey game. I had the best sleep ever. It catches up with me. If I am tired when I come home, I have a nap. I know it is all hormones. Thanks from Diane B.
