celebrating the fall
Hi Everyone, It is a beautiful day in North Carolina. The sun is shinning and the air is crisp. Just a fine day the Lord has given us.
Steve and I went to the county fair last night with good friends. We ate our way from the entrance to the bottom of the fair grounds. We had barbecue sandwiches, ham biscuits, corn dogs, a wonderful peach cobbler with icecream, whipped cream, nuts and cherries on top. Yum Yum!! We shared some of this so we didn't eat that much!! It is wonderful to just get out and see the sites and share it with friends. Made us feel 16 again! By the way he took me to the fair when I was 16 and he 17 years old. We checked out the entries down at the barn, saw a mother pigs that was with about 10 fat babies!! They were about the size of our dog Max. He is a 30 pound ball of fur Pug!! We laughed at this huge steer. He was higher than I am, probably as tall as Steve. Someone came along and sat a little baby on top to have it's picture made. That was not so cute as the baby didn't like it at all!
I am 62 and Steve is 63 so we have been together for a life time. I am so grateful to have this time with him. We are going doing this and that and living every day to the fullest. We know our time is getting shorter but today is a new day and by golly if all goes well we will get out of the house and make a few more memories today. Who knows we may go back to the fair and ride the mechanical bull!! LOL
I send all of you pleasant thoughts and hope that each of you are doing ok. Doing ok is just fine, isn't it?
Love and Hugs, Wanda

Doing ok is just wonderful and how I love to hear about the fun things that you\'re getting up to (plus you quite made my mouth water!! Tell me, what\'s a corn dog?!). I ought to write more about the good times, not just come on and rant when things are tough....note to self!
Happy memory making, and lots of love,
Meriel
Hey Wanda
Good thing I just had lunch - otherwise you would be making me hungry!
Sounds like good, clean corn pone fun to me. We don\'t have stuff like that around here as we are city slickers.....But hey watch out on that bull, if you get your 62 year old butt kicked you will feel it big time. I know. I\'m 64.
Yes, we should take each day and enjoy it and not think about the next one till it gets here. Good advice for ANYONE, not just cancer patients & their loved ones, right?

Wanda -- I\'m so glad that you and Steve had a wonderful time. As I was reading your entry I could almost taste the food. It\'s a good thing I just ate dinner.
Hugs, Carla

Dear Wanda, What a wonderful reminder you\'ve given us about the many joys there are in life. Just being together with family and friends, eating a corn dog (Please let Meriel know what that is...better yet, we should send her and D one!)...anyway, thank you for sharing a bit of your happiness with us.
Love, Linda
Oh, what fun! It truly has been gorgeous weather. Our four days in NC were truly beautiful. How blessed we are to be having such a wonderful Fall. Sure is a welcome relief from the brutal summer we just had, huh!
Take care, Hon.
Love,
Ingrid

So inspiring to read that you and Steve can have such a good, fun time doing things together with friends. sometimes it\'s so good to feel like a kid again and rekindle those early days of your life together. We all need to remember that each day is a precious gift and make the most of it. You two certainly do that. Thanks for sharing your county fair. I could picture it all in my mind.
Love and hugs across the miles to you both
Angel
