Celebrating Geo's Birthday (a day early)
Today we went over to Geo's dad's house for his birthday (his birthday is tomorrow, but his dad works so we celebrated it today). It was nice. We actually got home in time for me to do my nightly routine, which made me happy. We had a nice lunch, and I got in all my calories for the day. It also was his baby sister's birthday on the 26th, and so we celebrated her birthday as well. She was so cute! She had her candle on the cake, and every time they would light it and try to sing, she would blow it out right away. Then, they finally sang and then lit the candle, and then she couldn't blow it out! She just turned 2, and she's the cutest thing ever. I got to sign her card, which was odd for them to let me sign it, but I did. I told her she was cute, even when she cried, and that even though she may not know me now, I'm going to be there for her. I wish I was around her more and she was used to me, but I have my limits going over to his dad's house. She knows Geo for some reason, but not me. I guess she will get used to me. I feel bad that his sister doesn't know me- it makes me feel out of place- but she loves Geo (he's just a giant teddy bear, that's why) and always runs around saying his name. His name was the first she learned, just around the time of “mama”.
Overall, I had a good time today. We watched the Giants/ Dolphins game, and despite us all being in Miami they are Giants fans. They got all worked up over the game, and scared me a bit... I get scared when people start yelling. Geo's dad was yelling at the TV and it was stressing me out a bit, but I got over it. His dad gave up on the game and went to the computer room, and the rest of us watched the game. The Giants ended up winning, and Geo's dad came out and watched the end when they won. That's a typical football Sunday for them. Geo's dad gets mad at the TV, walks out and then comes back at the end to see how it turned out. Besides the stress from that, it was good. We had balloons for the party, and Geo's little brother and I were playing around with them, bouncing them back and forth during halftime. Everyone was playing during halftime, actually. It was very fun.
Mood lately has been good. I slept good last night, despite having a migraine. I woke up full of energy, ready to take on the day. I still have a bit of the migraine in the back of my head, but for the most part it's gone. I'm glad, since I've had to leave Geo's family's house early because of migraines before. I don't like doing it, but I have to do what's best for me. I have to watch out for myself, you know? I know Geo will understand, and his family does too. I talked with Geo's stepmother and planned out what we are going to do for Thanksgiving- I'll take care of the turkey and green bean casserole, and she will get the mashed potatoes and drinks. I love cooking turkey, it's not a hassle for me, so it works out well. She doesn't like cooking the turkey, so it works out even better. I'm doing her a favor, and she's doing me one by doing what I consider the hard part- cooking and peeling all those potatoes. I don't like peeling potatoes.
Food today was good- I was in my calorie range, yay! I had chicken for breakfast, and a wonderful lunch of pork shoulder, mashed potatoes, broccoli and birthday cake. Add to that chicken and corn for dinner, and I was in range :) And it was good food, too. All home cooked, from scratch. Geo's stepmother cooks everything from scratch, so I got to enjoy it. Well, the cake was store-bought. Geo's stepmother tried to make a cake from scratch and it came out a plate instead of a cake. She added too much coco powder. Still, she tried, and that's the important thing. We all laughed and it's one of those things we will joke about in good spirits. She said she's going to try again to make a cake for Thanksgiving, so we will see how that goes. Stress today was moderate... I was stressed when Geo's family was yelling at the TV, and may have responded by eating more (I'm not sure why I ate more... I think it could have been the stress or boredom). I feel better now, and I know I'm full and not going to eat because of stress any more today (even if Geo stresses me out by yelling at his video game). I need to make up for it at least a little bit, right? Mood today was good- I feel energized and ready to take on the world, and sleep was good. I may have a bit of a migraine left, but I'm not going to let that get me down.
