I'm hungry.......hmmm, what am I hungry for?  Nuked leftovers or eggs or ?

I made a cheesy rice w/cauliflower & ham casserole......also have leftover angel hair pasta with meat sauce.  & I have sliders sitting there.....I could make sausage sliders & scrambled eggs?  We'll see how well I stand & move after this sit break......

Glad I got some stuff done today.......good girl!  3 gold stars and one pat on the back!  I used to have a 7th grade teacher who used to self hug after lunch and she would encourage us to do the same.  I thought it was sooooooooo weird.  Now I get it, she needed that self hug to make it through the rest of the day with a bunch of semi sarcastic young teens.........but man did it loooook weird!

The funeral was really good, I cried at the opening and the closing song......I learned alot about Ellen that day.  She used to be the head of the Republican Party for Atlanta at one time.  Who knew????  She was in many singing groups all her life....in her latter years she was part of a group called The Entertainers......all white haired seniors.  The chorus leader shared some great stories about Ellen and the singing group also.  He asked that we give a special hand to the piano player.  He first met her when she was 3 years old, she played piano for an area church for 19 years, then had to stop when her hands/joints/wrists needed a long therapeutic rest.  Eventually she was able to play again and began playing for The Entertainers, she is now in her early 60's.......so I'm guessing the song leader is in his 90's.

Ellen volunteered at the Veterans Group in the Winder area for Barrow county veterans.  The leader of this group shared that despite her limitation of having only one arm she was his right and left hands!  He said she just showed up one day and volunteered to help......her first suggestion was to hold a dinner for the veterans and their families for the holidays.  She called local businesses and got donations for giveaway prizes.  She was so successful that she garnered for giveaways than the number of veterans in the group, they were able to have 2nd and 3rd giveaways.  She was a whirlwind in her 80's just like she had always been.

There is a lot more to tell about this lady......but oh my am I getting tired.  The birthday party was very nice.  They had a big dinner spread....I had just eaten at the church but skipped dessert so I'd have room for birthday cake!  A few of the owls ladies showed up and we had a nice time, chatting and enjoying the party for Debra.  Debra turned 69 that Wednesday.

My cleaner Debbie comes tomorrow......when I woke up today I had the serious sneezies and stuffy nose......headache,etc.  I took some medicine and slept until after 3.  Considering how awful it was earlier today healthwise I'm amazed that I was able to do as much as I did for self care help.  It's odd that I'm both the patient and my own caregiver.  God  strengthens me and then I try to take the credit.......sorry Lord, truly truly sorry!

now about that dinner.......gotta get cookin'!
