catching my breath - hi!
a long time ago now Stella was kind enough to put my bed up on risers. this helps me to get in and out of my bed much more easily.....yesterday i washed bed linens. while putting it back together i pushed the bed forward towards the head board. seemed wonky......but the message didn't get through.....until 10:30 last night.
as i was about to sit i leaned forward and touched the bed, this is when i realized things were off balance. two of the four risers were no longer beneath the legs of the metal bed holder upper thing. i was still assessing the situation when the bed made a thudding noise and two scared startled kitties tore out from beneath their favorite hiding place.......oh dear.
i was hurting ......had been since early evening so i hollered out, "oh hell no!" at first i though i could (as if.....) simply lift the bed and put the risers back in place. wow, that is a definitive NO. everytime i bend over to try to fix the situation my back is hollering like a house on fire. i yell........cats hide. not good.
semi ashamed of my outburst.........i yell again. use not nice language to protest and rail at this injustice. for a flash of time i thought if i call my son at this time of night to fix my bed will he ever forgive me? can i sleep in the bed the way it is........no.
what to do, what to do. calm down lady. so i stared at the bed as if that would do something. it didn't. so frustrated......going on 11 pm. almost but didn't cry.....used yelling as a tool instead. knowing full well that God is NOT impressed with my verbal display of fury...............sometimes life doesn't not SEEM fair.
then i think i can sleep in my chair.....skip CPAP help for a night. camp out like a smarter calmer senior citizen should. but i pressed on......managed to get the other two risers off the metal posts and then sat huffing and puffing like the wicked wolf in little red riding hood. wait wrong story, that was the wolf in the 3 little pigs. my bad.
at this point i've pulled up the bed skirt, the pillows have all been moved away from the headboard and i am feeling sorrrrry for myself. take a deep breath and begin putting it back together. i shove the mattress forward until it touches the headboard, feel satisfied that the bed is stable again........put the bed skirt, the comforter back in place.......fix the pillows........and sit down finally on my bed.
uh oh.......now that's it's 4 inches lower gonna have to notify Houston that we have a problem. getting up and down, in and out of this lower bed is not gonna work for long.
next up? research to see if there is a metal rack that is taller than a standard mattress holder. by now you've probably realized that i can't remember the official name of said metal bed holding rack to save my life. i want to call my son but then i think no, you have a computer, see if this magical bed lifter upper exists first. if you can find one, if it's affordable then you can ask your son to get it and put it in place. that's the plan as of now........
i got overheated this morning as i dusted and swiffered the interior of the house. i still need to swiffer the kitchen and laundry room change the kitty litter and water the plants. but i already did a mini cleaning of the bathroom, bedroom and living room. got company coming friday. got to make sparrow cottage presentable and allow enough time to recup from the prep work.
gonna keep it simple and have chinese food delivered. another pal is bringing snacks for later.......ok, i'm cooler now.......i think i can press on. wish me luck as I wish luck for you and your adventures! stay safe, pray you are well.
