Called In Sick Today
That stomach flu I had yesterday stuck around this morning. I was fine until I ate my breakfast, and then after that I felt sick again and spent some quality time in the bathroom. I hope I'm better tomorrow, since I have to make up time. I made chicken soup for dinner, so hopefully when I eat that for breakfast tomorrow I'm going to feel okay. I spent a lot of today in bed again, but I was feeling a bit better than yesterday, so I was talking on the phone to my friend Andrea and was going online a bit. I even tried tea this morning to calm my stomach, but the tea that normally helps me made me have to use the bathroom too. I've been drinking plenty of water to not get dehydrated, and I did lose weight. I have to be careful not to get too excited about the weight loss, since I know it's temporary. I don't want to start a new ED habit of getting sick to lose weight.
I woke up early today... before 8am. I had gotten my 10 hours of sleep, but I was still tired so around 9 I took a klonopin to get me back to sleep. I shouldn't have done that, but oh well. It didn't hurt me. I woke up around 11 feeling fine. Tomorrow if I wake up that early I'm going to try and stay awake until it's time for me to come home from work and possibly nap. Maybe or maybe not. I may try and go to the gym after work, so I may not have too much time to nap. It all just depends on how I feel. I don't want to start going in too early, because they won't be ready for me and then they will start expecting me that early and I don't want to have to be up early. Then again, if I wake up early tomorrow and go in early, I can just do my 3 hours and go home and sleep. I don't think I even took a nap today. It's hard for me to think, since the day is just a long blur.
I did manage to get my walk in today, about 0.8 miles. I did it in about 23 minutes. My watch said 25, but I stopped to talk to this man who wanted to know about the buses since he was visiting from Kansas City. He's trying to adopt his nephew. I did my walk around the time when people were leaving from work, so I'm a bit worried that someone from work saw me walking when I took a sick day, but I was feeling better at that time, so I needed to go for my walk. I needed to accomplish something today. I know I cooked dinner, but that's not a big thing. I make my chicken soup all the time when I'm feeling sick. I just throw some chicken in a pot with water, salt, pepper, garlic and chicken stock cubes and let it boil for a while. After a while I throw in some rice, and then let it boil some more. Then it's done. Simple as that.
Mood today was good... despite not going to work I kept up a good attitude. Talking to Andrea helped, though, since she made me laugh when I was feeling sick. I don't know what I'm going to do when she's recovered from her withdrawal and can't talk to me at anytime anymore. I guess I will have to find someone else, but good friends like that are hard to find. Even after I talked to her I was feeling better mentally. I lay in bed for a while, feeling good, then went online for a bit. I did that a couple more times and then got up to go for my walk. Geo hasn't been sleeping at night, so I've been trying to be good about letting him sleep in the day. He's been in pain with his neck lately, so I've just been trying to give him his space and let him heal. I can try and rub it, but I think I'm just going to make it worse, so I don't try. I asked him if he wanted me to try to rub it, and he was ambivalent about it, so I'm not going to push him.
Food today was low on calories again. I managed to get over 1,000 calories today and closer to 1,100, so that's not too bad, especially for a day when I was feeling as sick as I was this morning. I'm surprised I didn't have more trouble with food after the morning, but I'm glad. I didn't eat as much of the chicken soup as I normally do, but I did eat more of the chicken off the bones. I cut the meat off the bone and throw the meat into the pot once the meat is done. Geo doesn't like having bones in his soup, whereas I don't mind. I just pick the thigh out of the soup and eat the thigh like I would regularly, but Geo likes his soup to be consistent. Stress was a bit high today when I went for my walk, wondering if I was going to get caught by my bosses walking. I will find out tomorrow I guess. Sleep was good, if a bit broken in the middle of the night, but nothing major. Mood has been good!
