Busy day
Busy day, lots of ideas
lots of work done every moment was filled and now I have 15 minutes before service. A lot of it wasn't so satisfying but doing the job well, all these essential tasks, made me feel like I was contributing and doing important work for the monastic family. Camp is fun but also hectic. It's all good though, things are good.

A note I wrote to my Dad and Stepmom when I got to my room:
Hi Dad and C, I thought about you guys today because of one thing, well more than one thing. I was doing the work here that I knew was essential work to the health and functioning of the monastery. Daily life’s things. And I found myself questioning whether I found it satisfying or not. In fact I didn’t. But I knew to do a good job. I knew to get it done and I took satisfaction from it by doing a good job. I know it had to get done so I was doing it. I held up my end of responsibilities we all share here. I thought about the pressure we all have on each other or for ourselves I mean, to carry out our duties in life, our roles our relationships. I thought about how C once laughed about all the Christmas decorations, she had to deal with, and I thought about dad as well and the pressure he puts on himself to be the perfect dad. I know I think I understand now that kind of relationship that we all have with ourselves as a man and as a person with our families and doing good job. Like keeping house, keeping an orderly house and taking care of things that we may not totally enjoy doing, but as part of keeping life going. I thought about both of you and I thought about how you do that day in and day out. I do it in my own way, but you guys have created a life, that is a really good example. It’s also giving me the strength and insight to find that myself as well. My mom did it too. And so I just wanted to tell you I was thinking about you and I appreciate you and I understand you a little bit better even though I’ve noticed this kind of stuff before, today experiencing it my own life here made me just appreciate you guys and so I wanted to reach out.
What a lovely note to write your dad and C sweetie
I'm sure it will be appreciated and touch their heart's
And your right a lot of tasks it would be nice to be able to say no thanks but once they're done and done well it feels good
If you need a couple of hours off now and then sweetie I hope that you'll ask for it
Big hug and a blessing...xo
Thanks Janet!! xx
