Bullies in the country schools
Yesterday the school called and I had to pick up my grandson early. His wrist was injured. After his Mom taking the afternoon off to take him for x-rays and doctor visit, they found it was broken and now he's in a cast for 6 weeks. When we finally got the truth out of him, it seems he was bullied on the playground again by the same child that has been giving him trouble off and on for a couple of years. He is called names like wimp, etc. by this boy that is twice his size. He does this in front of others to break up any play going on he is not involved in. Having had enough my boy gave him a little shove and the results was that he then pushed he back hard enough to knock him down. He fell, breaking his fall with his right hand and causing a box fracture to his wrist.
At the school where they talk zero tolerance for bullies, the principal says "boys will be boys" He knows the other boys family for years etc. etc.
Nothing will be done about it. He will talk to the boy and tell him if he ever hits, kicks, etc. my grandson again, he will get a paddling. In the meantime, we have reinforced the rules with our boy but he is scared about what will happen when he returns to school. He has been scared to go for a while now because of this kid and obviously with the attitude there I'm not surprised. How can you explain that the rules do not apply to students if the principal knows their family.

Poor baby. Uhm...what does knowing the family have to do with doing his/her job? Ugh! I feel so bad for kids these days who have to tolerate whatever is sho ed on them 1st out of fear of relentless bullying and then from the so called zero tolerance experiment that will scoop them up...just for trying to make it stop. Prayers to your daughter cause I know this must hurt her heart and make her feel helpless and for your boy that he will be safe from harm and fear. Sad.
We appreciate your prayers. I really don\'t understand the mentality but evidently being friends with the principal pays off. Most of all I don\'t know how to explain to my grandson. I want to say stand up for yourself but look where that got him.
take it to the school board.........and if that doesn\'t work, go HIGHER.........praying for your grandson ...........my son was playing with a boy in our front yard, a much bigger boy ....all of a sudden he tackled my son, and then sat on him...........he had broken sam\'s elbow..........these boys were only 6 years of age.............i saw red.......the other boy was just plain mean........it wasn\'t a garden variety accident.........i drug that child off my son and had to count.......and i\'m the pacifist in the family, the mother bear pacifist......guess that is an oxymoron...........praying for all!
