Buddhist saying: have the courage to face things exactly as they are

Going to fun community events Sat and yesterday really helped. Reminds me that there's a real person under there. As soon as I get home it's the battle of the symptoms again, severe burning mouth with nauseous metalic taste, head pain, burning head, have to strap a freezer band on every hour, fever and chills, weak, POTS, heart palpitations, back and neck stiffness. The stomach has fewer hrs of distress, still eating tiny amts.
Yesterday I thought about all I have lost because of illness. Then, I forced myself to think of what I have gained during prob my worst winter ever.
So far, came up with, spiritual growth (CD's), necessary grieving of past family stuff, appreciating the small things ( cat, tv,etc..) and maybe finally accepting not able to do housework. We almost never vacuum, etc.. Justdon't do it. Most of the laundry is my hubby's and I have a history of washing my clothes as little as possible. Hubby does groceries and changes cat litter, takes out recycling every wkend (I know I am lucky). Having to cook dinner every night is enuf for me. Give me a microwave and 15 min and I'm out of there!

Metallic taste in mouth happens when you take mastic gum and it kills H. Pylori.

Glad you had a chance to go out. Symptoms suck, but I guess it creates a new breed, the blessings counters. One ... two...

Happy that you got it! This is SO incredibly important for us, isn\'t it. For a while, we\'re \"a real person\" again and it just feels so good! Even to get out of the house and walk up the block a little ways and feel the fresh air and watch the people scurrying to and fro is helpful to me. (as opposed to looking out my window and wishing it was ME out there). We have to try to do the little things that reconnect us to the world.

I\'m blessed to have a wonderful husband as well. He\'s been doing laundry for a long time now. I try to help him fold the stuff up, but I can\'t get up and down the stairs with the basket anymore.

Hope you are doing ok in this weather. It\'s just crazy! xoxo

Pouty, I\'m glad you got out for some fun and were able to connect with the part of you buried under illness. I have learned how to block out the sight of dust, dog hair on the carpet, crumbs on the counter......We do what we can!

Yes that Buddhist saying is a good one.I need to develop more courage , that is for sure, and accept the here and now of my life, instead of fighting it. Glad you\'re feeling the blessings of small things.Congrats on cooking dinner every night even though you are so ill.I hardly ever cook at night, can\'t stand up.My husband is a much better cook anyway. So happy you managed to go out pouty, we all need those memories to keep us alive and feel part of the world outside
