Breaking the pattern

I have had a few times in the last few days that would have been a sure time to gamble and I was able to fight the urges so I "won" those battles.  I think the thing that amazes me is how many times I arranged my life to be able to swing by a casino, or stop for just a beer before going home and it always turned into a bad deal of not stopping until the money was gone.  Looking back it took a long time to develop that pattern - that automatic GPS in my brain that said turn right in 1 mile,  turn left in 1 mile, you have arrived at your demise dipshit now go loose money!  I know the GPS is malfunctioning my life so I can't listen to it but it will take a while so that I don't hear it talking to me.  1 day at a time I will not gamble.

Congrats on not giving in!! It\'s amazing how gambling addiction sneaks up and takes over a person\'s life..before you know it, you\'re already hooked and broke.
My biggest struggle was what to do in my free time. I have been picking up things I love to do again that I have neglected for so long...like billiards and photography. What do you like to do for fun?
