Break from the Mood Swings
Today was a break from the usual mood swinging, so I'm glad for that. I woke up on time, felt good, and went to work. Geo had an appointment with his doctor (psych) at the clinic I work at, so I left work early to go with him to his appointment. It went well, the doctor just refilled his medications, so that was it. He hasn't been sleeping well lately, but the doctor said it wasn't anything to be worried about. So I have to stop worrying about his sleep and just leave him be. He's getting about 5-6 hours a night plus some naps in the day, so it's not that bad. I just like it when he gets a full night's sleep. I know it's good for him, and that it keeps him in a good mood. It's not like he's been in a bad mood lately, just tired. Well, there was one day that he was in a bad mood, but it's because of the pain more than anything. His neck has been super tense for a while now.
After the appointment, Geo and I went to Burger King. It was nice, and I got my calories in for the day. He and I sat there for a bit and talked. It was a date, so to speak. We used to go to Taco Bell and sit and talk for hours when I didn't have a job or much money. It was nice. Just doing something to get out of the house and connect with each other. You need to do that sometimes to clear the air with each other. You can't be sitting at home all day doing nothing and not talking to each other. Communication is key. I was telling him I'm going to go visit my mom at the end of the month for Christmas for a week, from the Wednesday before Christmas until the Wednesday after. He was telling me that he wants his friend from online to come visit us. I'm interested in meeting her, too. She seems nice (and she's happily married and not interested in Geo in that way, and I trust Geo) and from what I've talked to her, she has a nice family.
I got new glasses today in the mail. They are taking a bit of getting used to, since they are a bit tight, but they are nice. I like them. I might take a picture with them later and post it so you all can see them. My old glasses had cracks in the lens, so I needed a new pair. They had a deal online where you could get a free pair of glasses, just pay for shipping, so I got them. I wish I could have tried them on, so I could have seen that they were too tight, but oh well. I guess you get what you pay for. Other than the tightness, they are good glasses. I hope they last me a while. At least until I get vision insurance and can get a good pair of contacts. I miss contacts. I find them just as easy as glasses, and I like the way I look in them. You can see the bags under my eyes in them, but it's something I have to get used to. I don't have bags as bad as my mom does, so that's good at least. I wish I didn't have any at all, but you get what you get.
Mood today has been good. I'm glad to have a break from the mood swings. I wasn't too high or too low today. I hope tomorrow is just as good as today. Maybe I won't have to go to the hospital anymore. I hope not... I don't want to go so much. There are times when I want to go, and times when I don't. Right now I don't want to go. I don't feel I need it on a good day like today, but I don't know what tomorrow is going to hold. I think what I'm going to do is ask for an increase in my Depakote, but just a bit. It's been working well for me for mood stabilization, but I can't go too high because of the liver problems. It's a good medication, and cheap. I can't afford a lot of the higher priced medicines, so I have to get what I can.
Food today was good. I ate a bunch of crap, but I met my calorie goals for the day. I had a chicken thigh for breakfast, mac and cheese for lunch, and 2 cheeseburgers for dinner. I'm down to 230 pounds now, so that means I've lost 22 pounds since May, when I started Spark People. I'm happy about my weight loss, and I'm glad that I've been losing it slowly for the most part. I like losing weight fast, but I know when you lose it fast, you gain it back twice as fast. So I've been trying to lose it slowly, and keep it off. My previous low was 225, so I'm going to try and hit that by the time I go to LA in January. That's a bit fast for my weight loss (a pound a week) but I think I can do it. Stress today was low... just hanging out at work and at Burger King. Sleep last night was good. I got good sleep and felt rested throughout the day. Mood today was good... let's keep this up tomorrow!
