Bonding at Work
Today was pretty boring. I woke up in the morning around 10:45 am and I was still tired. I was up in the middle of the night, from 5:30am to after 6am. I didn't feel too well, so I lay in bed and slept for a while longer, then got my coffee and butt out the door. My stomach started hurting with all the caffeine I was drinking and eating (I brought my chocolate covered espresso beans to work to share) and so I wanted to leave early, but I didn't. I was sharing my beans, and there was this woman in the cubicle next to me that was sharing veggie chips. We were talking a bit, and it was good. I think me bringing in the beans helped me bond with some of the people at work. People there liked them, and so I was passing them around during the day. They tease this one girl about her weight (I don't know why, she's skinnier than I am) and told me not to give anything to her, but I did anyway. I didn't want to look selfish and be mean. The woman wants to lose weight, but she doesn't know how to do it. I gave her Spark People's website and I'm trying to get her to sign up.
See, everyone wants to know what diet I'm doing to lose weight. Everyone has suggestions for me to try, and I don't listen most of the time. What I'm doing is working for the most part. I'm just eating well and exercising, although this week I didn't exercise as much as I should have. I've been skimping on the exercising since it's been raining this week. It's odd for it to rain in winter here, but this week has been rainy. I'm going to try and go for my walk tomorrow, even if it is raining. If it is, then maybe I will go to the gym and get on the elliptical machine. I can work out on that and burn more calories than walking alone, but it's just so boring. I should bring a magazine with me so I can read while working out. I just have to work out before I go eat, since once I eat I'm not going to want to work out anymore. That's just the way I am.
My weight went up for a couple days, but then went back down to 225.5 pounds. I've been eating in my calorie range for the most part, but it's me skipping the exercise that's the problem. I also have been drinking a lot of coffee, and not as much water. I need to start drinking more water. I have to set a good example for Geo. I'm hoping that I will be able to help him start liking the taste of plain water, or water with a bit of lemon in it. We have lemon and lime juice here, so that's not a problem. I just have to get off my lazy butt and put together the Brita filter that we have so he can have clean water and put it in the fridge for it to get cold. He likes cold water while I like tap water at room temp. I guess it shouldn't be too hard for me to put the filter together and get him some cold water. I just hope he drinks it. I should do that tonight. He went to Taco Bell today for lunch since he had the car, and he says that he's going to treat me to lunch tomorrow since we still have the car. I don't know if I will ask him to go out to eat or not. I can have a low calorie breakfast, go for my walk, and then maybe go out to lunch, but I don't want to get into the habit of eating out every day we have the car. It's bad enough that we order pizza and Chinese food every now and then.
Mood today was good for the most part... I was on hold most of the day at work, taking care of the harder appointments to schedule so it was boring for the most part. Luckily I was signed into the computer so I could use it to look up stuff. I was online looking up Geo's insurance to see what kind of coverage he is getting, and I found an easier way to look up doctors for the woman I was working for. That made her happy, since she has a lot of work to do and this way saves a lot of time. I was kinda stressed out for a bit, because two people wanted my help at the same time and I couldn't help both of them at the same time.
Food today was good. I was in my calorie range and everything was good. I had yogurt and strawberries for breakfast, mac and cheese (baked) and cottage cheese with pineapple for lunch, and then Geo fried up some chicken for dinner. I also had some of the exotic chips that a woman brought in, with yucca, beet, sweet potato and more chips. They were very good. I'm still working on my forgiveness thing, but I don't know if I will be able to do it. I'm scared of bringing up the memories and not being able to deal with them, but I have been able to so far, so that's good. I'm just have to keep repeating that I forgive him and hopefully I will believe it soon.

I like warm tap water too! My friend always asks me if I want it heated up when we visit. LOL
What I did for eating out was go online and get the nutrition food list for the place we are most apt to go to and make a short list of the best choices. No more staring at the menu and wondering what to order.
Have a great weekend.
first, im sorry i havent responded sooner. sounds like a positive day all around. happy to hear that you are feeling more comfortable at work and helping people there with your knowledge and info, what a great gift to help that woman with spark people. i agree, ask her if she wants to have a bean, which by the way, was awesome of you to bring. the brita isnt hard to put toghter, even i did it! maybe if its in the fridge, it will be seen and geo will be more willing to drink it. i drink tap, but cold water tap. great idea above about going online, i have heard this from many people. maybe try different places to eat that have more of a variety of healthy food. i get what you mean by eating out, it is costly and salty and uses more calories then it should. fun every now and then though. forgivenesss, so hard, you are doing the best you can, and if it is meant to be, you will accomplish it. many hugss
