Blue Skies Friday.........no shopping required here!
Hi,
I hope you had a relaxing, enjoyable Thanksgiving Holiday!
Before I forget, on Thursday, December 5th, NBC is hosting "The Sound of Music." They are doing this as LIVE THEATER......right in the comfort of your very own living room! Family entertainment........at first I wasn't that interested.........I love the original Julie Andrews "Sound of Music"........but then I did a little more homework. The opportunity to view LIVE THEATER in my house, from my power chair or bed is pretty irresistible. 7pmCENTRAL/8pmEST, 3 hour event.......did I mention it's LIVE? think this is Brilliant! lol........I love corny hokey warm feel good family centered entertainment.....LOVE LOVE....lah de dah!
Rogers & Hammerstein musical classics!!! Dancing!!! A lovely story, wonderful children - the Von Trapp Family. I caught the "Behind the Scenes Look at the making of this show" on TV this week and now I'm even more excited.
I may even wear my dressiest pj's!!! LOL.....................if you have a fondness for this show......it would be lovely to share it with you.........across the miles.
I got to see both of my tall beautiful children yesterday. ......Sara came on her own mid-afternoon. We sat on the sofa and had a long chat. Our rhythm is a little off, I tire easily - she was just plain tired.........but we hung in there and had a nice enough time. I didn't discuss anything of serious consequence with her. Focused on time with her in the moment..........she stayed another 15 minutes after her brother Sam arrived......and then left to go to her in-laws. She encouraged us to come with her.........but I was not moving worth a flip yesterday. I couldn't straighten up..........it was a crazy day for pain, but the pleasure of seeing my children was a huge lift for my heart.......somehow it balanced the day out. I was moving like Tim Conway playing an old shuffle step dude, I might have made it into their house, up two flights of stairs, but I might not have made it back down until Spring.
Sam took me to a silly website called cakewrecks..........about what happens when bakers get it wrong.......I gotta tell ya........anyone who suffers with brain fog will feel absolutely brilliant after seeing some of these cakes! .........who knew cake could be so funny!
Sam brought the newspaper with him, we spent some time looking at all the shopping deals.......I had no idea that stores open Thanksgiving evening for Black Friday, apparently I live under a rock! He showed me deals for 50 inch TVS for $200. That's nuts! The ad guaranteed that every Brandsmart store had 40 of these in stock at every one of their stores. People must have eaten their turkeys and then gone to camp on the store steps!
OHHHHHHH, I forgot.......I had asked Sam if he could flip/turn my mattress sometime, so yesterday he remembered. He goes into my room and he's like "what is all this stuff?"
I say, "HUH? He's like "all the pillows, all the layers.........don't get me wrong Mom, it looks really nice, but what is it all for?" Tells me he is going to need GPS.........at the very least a road map to put it all back together!!!!!!!!
I'm laughing........a man is a man is a man.............just as a woman is a woman is a woman. So often we feel that we are from different planets.
There is a bright red throw on the end of the bed, provides extra warmth for terminally cold feet & it catches most of Annie's shedding fur.
Then a reversible comforter, underneath that a warm red blanket.......a top sheet, a bottom sheet.......a mattress pad........TWO memory foam pads.............but wait, there's more!!!
4 standard size pillows & 3 small throw pillows. Each pillow gets used........one throw pillow gives neck support, the other two are arm rests.......depending on pain -- pillows prop, lend support......pillows help me angle my body to buffet spasms, nerve pain from Fibro........
I even told him for the first time.......sigh, told him out loud about tailbone pain.......that's a "special moment to share with one's male child. Mercy......... HARD SURFACES HURT........how to say this......"Momma's bum hurts son".......lol...egads! I know it's just another fact, but it's my bum for goodness sake. fibro pain can strike anywhere, i won the tailbone pain lotto...... so special!
Between arthritic pain - fibro pain.......it's hard to sit for any length of time.....ya gotta move, ya gotta sit...........constantly shift against the pain. It's exhausting. Soft padded layers help!
By contrast, he has two pillows on his bed, top & bottom sheet........mattress pad and a comforter. I'm not anti stream lining, gotta go the extra mile in self care for better comfort!!!!!!!!!!
Content but very tired this morning. I was restless after Sam left around 11........fell asleep around 2 am and woke again at 6 am............so a nap sounds perfect to me.
I hope you are warm, comfortable..........taking it easy........that you had a lovely day.........that you feel a little relief ............happy to receive the answers to prayers. One day at a time right? Right! Hugs, Sparrow

Great that you got to spend time with both Sara & Sam. Funny about filling Sam in on all that ails you & even funnier on his comments about your bed & its contents.
Good that you are staying home today & not venturing into the world of retail mayhem. As the old saying goes, \"There is not enough rice in China\" to get me to go shopping today.
Hope you have a good day at home today.
Sounds like a great day. It was nice you could have the quiet that you needed during the day, but the gift of your kids showing up to share a little of the holiday with you - without all the craziness of a crowd. Your bed sounds a little like mine - blankets, pillows, props, anything to relieve a kink, a spasm, or a sore bum :-).
So happy to hear that Sara and Sam came by.Great thanksgiving day for you.Sounds like you have a whole relax resort happening on that bed of yours.
So happy your children visited. Your son sounds like a really caring person.
I had a nice day too. I did go to my friend\'s daughter\'s house.
Comfort is more important when you don\'t feel well.
I\'ve heard that the average woman has 4 pillows on her bed while men have only 2! Do you\'re perfectly average! That\'s not an insult, at least not to me. Sometimes I\'d love to be average! LOL
Hug hug
Happy that you got to see them both on Thanksgiving, and were able to present as a \"cool cat Mom\"!!
I\'m so glad not to be the only fybromite with multiple pillows for multiple reasons: two \'L\' shaped body pillows (as needful as my mattress) and then an array of others always within reach for what ever a given night might demand........... Also, have traded my electric blanket for an electric mattress pad, and like it much better, it has 3 heat zones and doesn\'t bother heating the air under and around the bed with the overhang!! Cheers, \'cause that\'s to where I be headed now.............................
Serce so Happy to hear that Both of your children came by and spent some time with you (Mom) *smilingfromeartoear* for you All! And good for Sam to remember to flip your mattress. I think your bed sounds Wonderfully comfortable, a place to lay and just Rest. I am not a huge fan of The Sound of Music but Julie Andrews voice is Beautiful. I love the idea of you dressing up in your best PJ\'s and enjoying the live theater show. Good for you. Annie sends greenies for the kitties and Love/Light for you Serce
So happy you saw your kids! Love Sam and his needing a GPS to navigate your bed LOL....too funny! We have a 6\" foam topper, love it.
I\'ve only been to Europe once, toured 7 countries in 10 days BUT we went to the actual house in \'Song of Music\'!!! I saw it, it\'s beautiful....I love that movie too.
Dress up with your decadent PJ\'s :) You\'ll have a wonderful night...get some outfits for the furkids too :) xo
