Blue
Having Blue to take care of has really helped me learn to be responsible for another creature. I may not understand his wild animal nature at times but I do know if I have extra time on my hands, as I was just down in the chapel living room, I know I should be up here in my room with him. He’s a wonderful being and to be alone with no agency probably makes him suffer. So I’m here now, we’re together. :) he purrs with delight for the first ten minutes I’m home.Things are really good!

i grew up on old abandoned farms which ALWAYS had barn cats. i got along with those cats well enough that i was accused of being a cat person and okay with that accusation. i was the only human who could even find them, much less get near them. i was a young adult when i met my first house cat and i wasn't completely sure it was the same species as the barn cats i was raised with. i'm still not. for sure, no owner of house cats has ever accused me of being a cat person.
do house cats still have any of their wild instincts? i wonder if they are kinda like cows. the nature was bred out of them long ago.

setting that non-sequitur aside. . . for sure my mental health is more stable when my world is bigger than little ol' me.

amen to that, suncloud. plants are equally fulfilling, but in a very different way. greedy wench that i am, i bond with both.
