Blessed Day

Today was a miraculous gift that we spent with our oldest GD.  Her Dad realizes that we needed to do our traditional birthday celebration with her.  It's not a big deal but our special deal.  She had band camp this AM so we picked her up at noon.  We took her to our favorite place for lunch and then ice cream sundaes (our tradition).  Then we spent the afternoon at this huge (all new items) flea market that we enjoy walking around and looking at all kinds of things.  She never asks for something but we can always tell when she sees something that she likes.  We probably spoiled her some but that is what Grandparents are for.  We took her home at about 5 PM.  She needed to shower, have dinner and get ready for a show for the parents of the band to show them what they have learned.  She hugged and kissed us outside of our vehicle and of course we were not invited in.  None of the other kids were outside as I had hoped but I am thankful for the day we had.  She is starting HS this year and will be in all Honors classes so she is keeping up her school work.  We pray that maybe we can see the 3 oldest ones for an outing in maybe October  (have to get through all of this cancer things with DH before we can make plans).   We can only take 3 because that is all our car will hold.  I am praying for more visits.  ES does not reply and still has us blocked in all communication but we can FB message our GD.  She is good at getting her way with her Dad so if we let some time go by, I am praying we will be able to do that.  Anyway, we are just so very grateful for today.  Praying all of you might be able to experience some of this joy also.  Don't give up  because I never thought we would have this day.  Prayers and Hugs to all of you

OMG - I am so happy for you and DH. What a blessing to spend today with your GD. You will see the other 3, I\'m sure of it. I will pray that it is soon. We asked permission to send our GD a b\'day present and to our surprise our ES sent us a text message telling us how much she liked the present and even sent us a picture. Not sure when we will see her again or hear from our ES but baby steps. Sending hugs and prayers.
