Blessed

Had a wonderful weekend with our oldest GD.  It was our Christmas miracle and such a blessing.  I don't say this to make any of you feel worse but as encouragement that you, too, might have a miracle and God will open eyes of your EC so you are also able to have your GC.   We spent such great quality time together.  That was our Christmas. ( I never ask her any questions or make any comments about ES or his GF.  However, GD did say that the 3 oldest ones whose mother is not in the picture are taking orders from GF and really resent that.  The one that visited us is 14, the next girl is 12 and the only boy is 9.  She says that the 2 others are acting out and things just aren't good for any of them.  She asked if she could live with us (which of course we would love) but know that her father would never allow that.  The GF and ES have 2 children together ages 3 & 6.  GF has one girl that is 9.  The punishments GF inflicts are much too severe for the offenses but that is just our opinion.  ES has been the custodial parent for 8 years and the GC are very close to him but just don't know how to handle GF being in charge and not as close to their Dad as they were.  My heart breaks for them but I don't dare say a word - ES and we are not talking anyway.  We are hoping to hear from eldest GD about visits from the other 2.  We do have 5 GC but GF won't allow us to be GP to her children - the ones who really are our son's.   I can't do anything but pray but I can and will try to have them more often. )  Anyway, it was beautiful.

I am so very, very glad for you. That truly was a Christmas miracle! I was worried for you when you first said that GD was coming to visit, as I was afraid that ES would prevent her visit at the last minute, or something like that. I am so sorry that your ES\'s girlfriend is such a bad influence. Step-parent situations are usually very difficult. I know it must hurt your heart to hear about GF\'s behavior, and you have no control over it. But I am grateful to God, that you ES allowed your GD to visit you, and that the visit went so well. I know it must be a balm to your heart. I hope and pray the other GC will be able to visit you soon!

It was sooo good to hear that you had a wonderful visit with oldest GD and that it was your very special Christmas miracle. May visits with the other GC be right around the corner. May you make many wonderful memories with them and for them over time and be able to minister to them in many ways. So so happy for you!
