Bitter taste
Hate to ask this question. I had to have two back molars removed and have had a terrible bitter taste every since. I have only had a couple of teeth removed before and never had this bitter taste. The oral surgeon reopened my gums three weeks ago but still have the taste. This has been going on since before Thanksgiving
Any advise would help me I would appreciate,,

Sounds like an infection...call the dentist
Well, been on antibotics for months and when he opened me back up and cleaned it out three weeks ago, he did not say it was an infection. Sure hope it stops soon thank for your advise. Sandi
I had something like that once...it was an infection, they cleaned it out and packed it with some sort of stuff as I was in great pain...it was what they called a \'dry socket\'...I had to have it repacked a couple of times while on antibiotics and I remember a bitter taste...
I would be sure to followup with the dentist/surgeon

Ooh - have to agree with everyone. Sounds like some sort of infection and I would get it looked at. May be nothing to worry about but there\'s no down side to having it rechecked out. Good luck ~ Joanna
INFECTION when they did oral surgery to take out my bottom wisdom teeth - They had to go in the holes and push these wads of material - that tasted like cloves in there. Get it fixed or you will be looking at infection in different places like your sinuses and if it get septic you could be looking at time in the hospital with an IV full of anti biotics. Sounds like you need a new Dentist/oral surgeon to me hmmmmmmm
No personal experience but what the others are saying sure makes sense. Have this seen about, PRONTO!

Thanks everyone i wish i had never gone to the oral surgeon i went t but after having this going on for months he did 3 weeks ago cut it back open , cleaned it out,scrapped the bone. Said there was no infection. I called my regular dentist Thur they gave me a couple reason. One is i do have a cavity in the tooth that is beside the teeth that were pulled they said it could be coming from it 2. If the remaining tooth is filled with the silver stuff could cause it. Catch on that my dentist left for vacation. And i cant get into him until the 27 th. other option is yeast infection due to the antibotics for months i have been on. There has been no pain at all. The remoal went easy. The cleaning he did 3 weeks ago went easy. I think he would av seen an infection. Ijust hope i can get it to stop soon. Love you guys Sandi
I have no advice - just hope the bad taste goes away and you are better soon.

Yeast inf in the mouth, is like thrush in a newborn. Ask pharmasist what over the counter medication/ mouthwash you could use to help. At lest till Dentist gets back..
Other than that a metalic tast could mean some other problem in the body, but deal w/ mouth first if no answere call your family Dr.

Sandi, A couple years ago my daughter had the same kind of thing, she said she had a bad taste in her mouth. She said she was brushing her teeth like 3 times a day, and brushed her tongue to..I took her to a eye ear and throat doctor and the doctor noticed she had a tiny tiny little pit hole on her tonsil, the doctor took a long tweezer and pinched out a tiny peice of food which was stuck in the hole. The longer food gets stuck in your mouth or teeth or thoat it turns into bacteria and smell really bad.. When the doctor pulled it out of the pithole of her tonsil the doctor put in infront of her nose and said can you smell that and Erica had to turn away and said ew that smells gross, so the doctor sent her home and said if it happens again you can live with it and hopes it works its way out on its own... About a month later Erica said she just started to smell it again, and of course being only 18 at the time and having a boyfriend she didn\'t want to have bad breath, so the doctor had to take out her tonsils which she had been getting sore throats and strep throat, so she had surgery and had her tonsils out.... Boy was she in pain with that, I guess its more dangerous the older you are having them out...She never had a problem since.... I hope you get to the bottom of this problem...Love to you, XO Kelly

I been looking thing up and I started to have blood sow up when they checked my urine. Found out the taste can cone from kidney problems. I dr appointments coming up so hopfully get to the bottom of this. Thanks all
