I am not sure if you will be able to use the link above, but if not, please go to Youtube and look up Billy Bob Thornton Master Class OWN...go to the clip "I've never been the same since my brother died"... believe me, it will resonate with you. I have never heard anyone speak so succinctly about grief...he could be reading my heart.

It sounds interesting. I have to say I am not a Billy Bob Thornton fan. He was rude and obnoxious in an interview program. I wondered if he was stoned.
The interesting thing is that he is in the series \"Fargo\" and it is being filmed here in Calgary. In fact the interiors are done in a nursing home that has been closed for quite awhile. I used to attend meetings there as it is across a field from the one I worked in. I haven\'t seen him, but I never really went looking either.
I will try to listen to that part of the show though.
We are definitely changed.
Love and hugs,
Marlene

It was very moving and meant quite a bit to hear it from the perspective of a grieving sibling. I have found that my own grief is compounded by that of grieving for that which my younger son lost.

Marlene, please, please watch it...it is extremely validating to hear someone say, \"You will never get over it\"...I have been saying that the whole time and also he expresses he wants to remember his brother and the way he felt when his brother died because his brother deserved it...and then...sigh...straight from my HEART!!! \"If I have to be sad, lonely the rest of my life then that\'s okay\". Please watch it.

It\'s so true..we will never get \"over\" it and I know we are not supposed to. How can we when we loved so deeply. But we do learn to incorporate it into our lives as time goes on...We need to feel the pain to move along our journey.

when my brother died in 2010, i honor him by living life to the fullest. i watched fireworks this year because he loved them, i decorate the house for Christmas with extra enthusiasm because he loved everything to do with Christmas. i am not afraid to die any longer because he is there waiting for me. that is how i have dealt with his death. it brought me a fresh view on living. that\'s how he would want it to be!
