Better and Better
I can't wipe the goofy grin off my face!!! Today was awesome!!! Steve was moved out of ICU into a regular room, unhooked from ALL machines, happy to be alive, and I am a blessed woman!!!
Did it take this near tragedy to wake me up to all I still have to live for??? To be happy for??? Who knows, but wake up I have. I don't want this to be a knee jerk reaction and slip back into the despair that has consumed me for so long. I know there will still be ups and downs, but since I lost Cassi I have not had this level of happiness and I refuse to let it go. When I need to grieve, I will have a good cry and move on. I know, I KNOW, our precious Cassi is looking down with absolute delight...at her parents happiness, new found appreciation for this life and each other...I FINALLY don't feel guilty for feeling happy, not at all. I feel Cassi shining down on me, so happy for me and her Daddy.
There is a process we still have to go through. The admitting physician told us today that Steve will be Baker-Acted, meaning he will be only released to in-patient psychiatric care for up to 72 hours, by law. Hopefully they will find him a bed tomorrow and he will be medically released and transferred to begin his pschiatric care. I am exhausted!!! Happy exhaustion.
I have felt you lift me up...fortify me...slam pure steel down my spine when I needed it. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!
Did I remember to Thank You??? Lol
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Sisters of the Heart!!!

I am so glad you have been able to find happiness again.. it's hard, we don't want to feel disloyal to our angels, BUT I know they want us to be happy, to experience true joy and love.
Jenn, and Cassi, as watching us, and rooting for us, always.
Hugs dear SOTH
Forever grateful!! Sending love and a big hug..to you sister!
It warms my heart to hear the positive coming from you. I know life is very difficult, but it sounds like you have come 2 steps forward. I am sure Cassie has an ear to ear grin on her face also. This is an eye opener for you, keep up the good work.
Hugs

I'm with you in all these steps and YOU are the one who did it, Gina. The grit and grace came from within YOU and you are the making your way with Steve. Thank goodness for this outcome and the chance to heal on the deepest of levels.
The after care is critical so I'm very hopeful that he will be given good resources and tools and that you will as well.
Loving care to you both and the most healing of heartfelt (((hugs)))
Onward you go warrior woman/mama!

Gina, this is the best news ever! And I can see you smiling, knowing that Steve will be ok! When our child dies it is so hard to focus on what we have; I know all I could think about was the emptiness in my life where Ed had been. But when we are able, it is such a gift to enjoy and revel in what we do have. I am sure Cassi is thrilled that you and her Dad are going to do well and fully engage in life and with each other. Our kids want the best for us just as we always have for them.
Love you Gina and so happy Steve is doing so well! ♡
I have been reading and so glad Steve is doing better. I was worrying that you might get slammed in the face when the crisis eased but what I just read is encouraging... you know I see that the pain will be there but you are ready to cry when you need to and pick up... what we all have to do... I also believe Cassi is happy and grateful to see you all doing well... Taking care of Steve is important and I'm going to pray you find space and time for you. Hugs Elissa
This just made my day! Happy news!
Continued prayers for both of you.
Love and LIFE~
What an encouraging message. Continued heart hugs and blessings wished upon you and your dearest. XOXO, Debbie
