Beta #2 done, now two weeks until first U/S
Good afternoon ladies,
Thank you to everyone who gave me all the congrats and I truly appreciate all of my DS cheerleaders! This has been such a tough road and althought I'm overjoyed I got a BFP, I'm still cautious because I know this is such a sensitive time. I'm praying that my little embryo (or would that be fetus by now?) continues to grow and stay safe in there.
So I got the second beta today, 12dp5dt (which is when I was actually supposed to first take it, haha) and it's at 102. It was 45 on Friday so the nurse said everything looks great and that I can schedule my U/S appt on 3/31. I guess what confuses me is that she said the numbers have increased as they should but I hear of so many people having higher numbers. Do you ladies think I should be concerned or have any of you had numbers like mine and had a healthy pregnancy?
It's so funny that she's not worried (and she's the medical professional) but I am...go figure. But I AM allowing myself to be excited and try not to worry by little butt off and acually enjoy that God has blessed me with this miracle that I've been waiting for. I just want to cry each time I think about it.
I know this is totally TMI, but I was "taking care" of DH yesterday (yeah no sex is hard) and I literally felt like I was going to orgasm by myself...LOL...then I started worrying that the arousement is messing something up in there since they said no sex until U/S. Girls, I seriously need to get a grip...the nurse actually laughed at me when I told her and assured me everything is fine.

Considering today was your original beta day and you are at 102 then I would say your numbers are perfect. Yay for being able to schedule your u/s! so exciting!
I thunk your beta is great. The numbers vary so much, but as long as it doubles every 3 days, it\'s perfect! Lol love your orgasm story. I think being aroused is totally fine :) So excited for your ultrasound in a couple weeks!!

I agree with LMWT 102 for your \"first beta\" day is great! Mine was 87. So congrats again! :)
Regarding your TMI- I had never experienced this before but since my first IVF I have had dreams that I woke up in orgasm. The first time it happened I was still on bed rest after IVF. I had the same worries you had but I am sure it is just fine. It has happened several times since but usually around treatments- hormones/drugs? I know they don\'t want us (Ifers) to have sex or orgasm but \"normal\" people have their healthy pregnancies all the time and don\'t give a 2nd thought. I am sure everything will be just fine.
My RE and clinic gave me no sex restrictions at all after transfer. I was all worried about it because we had sex a couple of times and I did orgasm only a week or so after transfer and then I read on here that many RE\'s so no sex. It didn\'t hurt my twins one bit. maybe it helped implantation. Who knows! 102 is a great number. My 1st Beta was 199 with twins. 102 sounds great for a singleton :)
Your BETA number sounds great! I\'ve read that the first BETA at around 14 days is generally between 50-100 for a singleton. Remember, that its not always about the actually number but more importantly that its increaing at the right rate, which yours is!!!
Congrats Mama! Although this is a super scary and uncertain time, I am praying for you, your hubby and your little nugget!!!

I also was given no restrictions for sex after my transfer. My RE told me that they believed it was healthy and helpful for the extra blood flow. I did however lie to DH and tell him that I wasn\'t allowed to until after the first u/s because it caused some spotting and freaked me out. Being aroused is totally ok, and hell, if you can orgasm without putting all the effort into it, you go girl!
Thanks for the piece of mind ladies, I can always count on ya\'ll to take a bit of my crazy away! I\'m glad my Beta number isn\'t way off and it sound like those of you who had similar numbers had great pregnancies. Now for the TWW for the U/S....
Your number is great and the look for it to double every 72 hours, if they had doights they would have given you an other beta.
The TWW to u/s is hard but there\'s nothing you can do but wait. I had bleeding the hole time and they would even move mine up.
For the sex thing, I say it\'s normal. I was on a no sex rest for the first 12 weeks because of a SCH and would orgasm during sleep, blame it on the progesterone ! Things still turned out fine and I don\'t remember it even making the bleeding worst.

My first beta was 61 and then 2 days later was 157 after our IUI. As long as your numbers are doubling, your fine!!

Your numbers sound wonderful! So exciting! I\'m sure this is a nerve wracking time, but I\'m sure the excitement outweighs that =) Good luck with your ultrasound!
