Being with Dave reminds me what I had with Smokey
Being with Dave reminds me what I had with Smokey. It is funny how that works. One of the many things I loved about Smokey was the way his eyes would light up every time he saw me. This never got old, boring or stale. Smokey's love for me ran deep. He told me so quite often. The feelings were mutual. My eyes must have lit up every time I saw Smokey as well. Sigh! There is a song that says about not ever finding a love like this. These kinds of things are unique and meant to be treasured. I am not sure where things will go with Dave but if eventually we develop these feelings for one another, it will be equally special as well. Right now we like each other a lot. It is not bad for dating for one month. For me using the word "love" is reserved for a special time. The word "love" is not to be used each day when you say to your friend or coworker "love ya." Saying it this way is not special or unique and might as well be saying "see ya" or "good day." This is the way Smokey and I felt about the word "love" and we reserved it for one another a few times through out the year so it would mean something very special to us. I still feel the same way about the word "love." Love is special and unique. When you find someone to love or fall in love with, it is a very special relationship. I want the word "love" to mean something when I say it to the next man I fall head over heels in love with in my life. I am not there at the moment. I do enjoy my time with Dave. If this continues, it could have the possibility of us actually falling in love. It all depends where this relationship goes. On the other hand, something could happen that breaks it apart. It still is in its infancy. It needs to be nurtured, cared for, watered daily and encouraged to grow and bloom into something special. This all takes time. Smokey and I knew after 3 months how we felt about one another. It took ten months to figure we might as well live together as we did not like it apart from one another. Dave and I are running our own course. It will be a unique path we take. The excitement is seeing which direction this new relationship is going. I think too much. Even Dave said that to me. There are a few people on this web site who say I think to much about these things. It is my inate nature. Accept the whole package or not. I am just being me. I am fine exactly the way I am for all the good and bad that is inside me. I accept Dave for the good and bad that is inside him as well. If not, we do not have a thing going on between us. You have to accept the whole entire person with their own baggage from the past. We all have a past. We all carry baggage or war wounds from past relationships. The bible says the greatest commandment is to love one another. This includes loving yourself as is and the other people in your life as is. There is no do overs or changes that we can make in other people. Love the people in your life as is and accept them just the way they are now. I am preaching a sermon here so I will say these are my own thoughts, opinions and experiences to reach these conclusions from Diane Baillie
