being at the monastery - taking a trip to CA until Thursday
being here is amazing -
last night and this morning i felt great love
for being here - and yet I also know
I need to be self responsible.
it's like a family here - and taking care of yourself
may come last at times - or we may even struggle
with taking care as it's our responsibility to do it - as
well as be in family mode -
it just isn't spelled out and part of the dynamic.
I've just been packing my bag - and the prospect
of wearing street clothes - or even planning what to wear
really was something to reacclimate to - a trip (no pun in intended)
but I realize I can have a bit of self interest in that department
and go on with my duties and responsibilities here

People here seem to be really balancing the love they have for each other with the processing of their own experiences and duties and personal history.
It’s a gear shift for sure to start thinking about my own trajectory for going on a trip tomorrow
