beautiful morning
I woke this morning to the urgings of a hungry cat
and so I got up and fed him, went back to sleep and
then got up at 430a to go to the coffee shop.
I drove there, and sat in my car for about 15 minutes
listening to the radio and surfing my Iphone, waiting
for the shop to open at 5am.
I came home with my coffee and turned on the tv.
The 2 Christian shows that are on before CBS Sunday morning
are sometimes a source of focus.
Today they were talking about goals... The shows, "Dr. Stanley" or something
and then "Joel Osteen" were on.
Both of them talked about how having goals and then being discouraged if
they were not turning out as one would have hoped... It made sense to think
about things in those terms... Well, "Dr. Stanley" talked about 'hearing god's answer'
and listening about certain things and that inspired in me the attitude of tenaciousness
and then Joel Osteen directly talked about goals... and not being discouraged if it
wasn't a perfect process and result...
Keep moving forward with an eye on the prize...I took from it..
And in the face of an early morning 'high mood' - I felt discouraged
and panicked at my own lack of boundary and so I decided to
do something with a physical - objective end product - in this case
I took out the recycling. Little things that encourage me to keep
a sense of my own positivity creates comfort.
CBS Sunday Morning then came on, and for some reason I don't
have the patience for it...
I'm thinking about goals but don't really have one -
I'll shave and shower.
What's the over riding goal? Just to get on with the day....
Some people have a different set of goals - perhaps some
more macro sense of goal. I do have some goals for the next
year - perhaps though I can start to develop professional
as well as life goals for myself.
Sending peace and good vibes!

Good morning, Mark! Happy Sunday. Goals are wonderful things to have. It is important to have some sense of flexibility about them, I feel. I have had to adapt when so many roadblocks come up and I think that’s a big part of the maneuvering toward goals. I hope you find comfort in your goals, and clearing the path when needed is a peaceful process for you. Wishing you a peaceful day.
thanks Nikki!
I think goals are good, but I tend to just take it one day at a time and don't worry about tomorrow. That gives me peace. Maybe you can look at it like that.
Thanks Becky!
