Battling my health

I contracted and have struggled with Graves Disease for 25 years.  It was a struggle the first 6 or so years trying to get the medication right after I had a radioactive treatment.  I faithfully take my medication daily.  It causes you to be very cautious of your eating habits as it make it hard to keep your weight in check.
In the 6 months or so after Tim passed I lost some weight, but then I started to gain weight, some I could understand but then it seemed to be unexplainable.  I then started having some trouble with my eyes swelling.  I was using products for allergies and nothig helped.  I was unable to wear my contacts so I went in to order glasses.  I asked the eye Dr. if the glasses will help with the double vision? To which he replied we need to reexamine you, double vision is not normal.  He found that my vision had gotten 4 times worse and that my left eyes was seeing up and my right eye was seeing down.  He rewrote my prescription with special prism to correct the double vision, and did not feel it was neccesary for me to see a medical Dr.
I took it upon myself to see a eye Specialist, as if my muscle in my eyes are weakeniing and causing double vision, what is happening to the muscle surrounding the eyes causing huge bags under my eyes and my upper eye lids to swell?  The specialist ordered new blood tests and found my levels slightly off.  I have adjusted my medication, but it takes time to react.
It seems as the stress from losing my love has caused some strange reactions in my body.  I am scared of losing my eyesight and I am horrified by my appearance (I hope that dosen't sound to vain).
I miss having my love to care how I am doing.  I feel so lonely dealing with this condition by myself.  The specialist does not want to see me for 3 months to allow the medication to adjust.  In the mean time I sometimes wake up with my eyes so swelled its hard to see.  The skin around my eyes is red and resemble a burn victum.  I use products to make myself more presentable.
Just feeling so alone.
Hugs, Sanid

I certainly understand about feeling as if there is no one to care what you are going through. We were used to having someone care about what was happening to us and now, it seems, there is nobody to even ask \"what did the doctor say.\"
Please take care of yourself and I hope you start to get better soon. Although the people in this group haven\'t met, we do care about one another and want to know how you are doing. Please keep us updated. Hugs, Norma
