Bad days ahead
No win situation. Moving in with my father. Know it's a mistake. Still have to move in. His memory is bad. Erratic behaviour. Argumentive. Maybe Alzeheimer. My blood pressure is going up inspite of blood pressure medication. I'm sacrifising myself for this. Of course, I still want to be with DH and I guess this is a way to do it.

My prayers will be with you as you enter this new phase. I hope it won\'t be as bad as it sounds to be. I hope you have someone who will relieve you when you need to have your alone time. You always have us to vent to no matter.
Praying for you and wishing you the best.
Linda
It doesn\'t sound like a mistake to me when I can tell that you\'ve analyzed the situation and have decided that this is your duty. We each have to step up and do our duties. There\'s a HUGE sacrifice involved, absolutely, but you\'re deciding that you have no choice in the matter.
As for accelerating your being with your husband again - I hope devoutly that this isn\'t the case. But you know about caregiving and you know that it\'s mandatory that you take care of yourself, even get respite care so that you can get out of there and blow fresh air into your brain.
We\'ll all be here for you, whatever you end up doing.
Hugs, Gail
All the best in a bad situation. Your father does need help and it could be Alzheimers. Did you ever get him checked out for it or would he go to the doctors? There is an Alzheimers support group on Daily Strength.
My heart goes out to you. This is going to be tough. Maybe I should not say that and try to be more positive about it for your sake but it is hard for me to be that way as i know first hand how hard it can be to be caregiver for an aging parent and throwing in the fact that you have not had the best relationship with in the past just adds another layer to the whole mess. I am hoping for your sake that this will be short term and another solution will come along. In the mean time, make sure to get respite care for him as often as you can and please take care of yourself. Do not be afraid to set boundaries. The care givers in care homes do set boundaries. They have to even for the safety of the one they are caring for let alone their own sanity. You my dear, are a better man than I am as I am positive I could not do what you are doing. God bless you. Even if your dad cannot appreciate your sacrifice at this time, the Lord does. May He watch over you and move mountains to make this bearable. May He watch over your health, grant you patience and give you a ton of comfort and peace. for the rest, we are here and feel free to vent to me any time. We can swap stories. Venting and praying about the insanity and unfairness of it all helps me and I can be a better person. It keeps me form becoming a very angry person. Big Hugs.
He is so unpredictable. I just joined a group for Bipolar disorder because of his current actions and past actions. He\'s still quite self-sufficient and is talking about returning to work. He\'s physically able to. He\'s not feeble in any way, so my ability to get care givers and put him into some program that can help him is not going to work. He\'s able to sound quite normal to anyone who meets him. He looks like a man in his late 60s. Is it alheimers? I don\'t know. Yes he has memory lapses, but they\'ve become less now that he\'s not working everyday. He was only getting three hours sleep which could easily cause problems with memory.
Thanks everyone for being here to talk me through the worst year of my life(I hope it is). It\'s gotten me through the days.
