Back to Reality
I was traveling most of the summer in Europe with my husband. We had a wonderful time, and for moments I was swept away and was able to function without overwhelming thoughts of my son. I'm sorry I was out of touch, but it's impossible to get internet for long periods of time in Europe and frankly I wanted to escape my problems for a time. I miss my group of amazing women and hope everyone is doing as well as they can. It has been 9 months since Ralph passed away. His birthday is in less than a month, I've been really feeling the approach of that date. I can't help the overwhelming feelings of loss as the time draws nearer. He loved going out on his birthday, and I loved celebrating this with him. My birthday is 20 days after his on the 22nd of October. We celebrated October together. I miss that so much and am feeling so much angst. Love to you all and I miss talking to all of you. Hope all is well,
Chris

I\'m so glad to hear that you had a wonderful time in Europe! Hopefully, it was a healing time for you both. There are so many beautiful and awe-inspiring sights. I hope you can post of few pics when you get a chance.
Yes, the days approaching the special days of our children that have passed can be very difficult and emotionally draining. Even when trying to keep it far from our minds, the sad feeling still lingers. But we find a way to persevere and get through it in whatever manner feels and brings the most comfort.
I hope that these days back in the \"real\" world at home be blessed with gentle peace of mind.
Love and Hugs,
Diane
nice vacation..... you deserve some time away... fall is a very hard time for lots of us...sigh.. love ya!
Welcome back...glad you had a nice vacation in Europe. Just remember many times the anticipation is worse than the actual day. We will be here to help you through the day....hugging you so very close. Hugs, Ann
I love Europe. I am so glad you were able to enjoy the sights of that beautiful continent and its people. I find that travel helps me cope. There is so much going on, I can feel normal for awhile. We have done a lot of traveling since we lost Lisa and we are considering going to Portugal in February.
Birthdays and angel days are tough. Just do what feels right for you. For me, every year is different. But the overwhelming feeling of loss is always with me.
Just know you are not alone.
Love and tight hugs,
Marlene
That feeling of emptiness
So glad you had such a nice vacation...I agree birthdays and Angel days are really hard. Sometimes I think it is the days leading up to these days that really get to me. Thinking about you and sending you big hugs, Nell
How lovely to be able to travel and those respites from the deep sorrow are needed.
You will move through those tender days as best as you are able and as the other moms have said we are here.
Loving care and be as gentle and nurturing with yourself as you can BE,
Hand in hand and Heart to heart,
XO Joanie
