Back on the Pill & Gradually Feeling Better
Hi Everyone,
Thank you.
Thank goodness for each other!
A woman really needs a friend or a few through this disgusting experience
I had a few hot flushes over 2 years 2012-2014 - weird and brief. In April this year I was on a tropical holiday with my family (a once in a lifetime chance) and My hormones bottomed out. I was having 8-12 hot flushes a night and waking myself and my irrate partner up (unintentionally). I was having 15 -20 hot flushes a day with sweats and was crying all day. it was shitful. My partner was angry at me for crying on the holiday and said I would spoil it. I went to the nurse and even though at first she said no, I got her to prescribe the pill for me - at least so I could not spoil the holiday for everyone. The pill worked. In June I decided to go off the pill to see if I could bleed, for a flush out. I was off it three weeks and felt myself ovulate strongly. this was heartbreaking as I would have loved to TRY but my partner has written that possibility off (My eggs are too old/it was impractical) We'll have to do egg donation later. I really hope for a baby. A few weeks later I was starting to get really anxious and sad. I felt I was about to bleed. I held off going back on the pill and sure enough I finally bled, a good big period like the good old times. But i nearly f'd up another short holiday and nearly lost my relationship because I was so angry and tetchy and sad and insecure. I went back on the pill and it took 3-4 days to get me back to more of an even keel. this is scary stuff. So far, anyway, I am a survivor of small bursts of the venom menopause spits into our lives. This is so intense. Perhaps because I've already had a tricky time in my life with a major car accident, a hearing disability, some depression PTSD and anxiety - Menopause hits in a more intense way. Maybe I've been low estrogen my whole life? apparently it disposes you to depression as it is aa precursor to being able to make enough seratonin.
Thank you.

Vowing to be POSITIVE and HAPPY - a 90 day challenge. I\'ve got to change my whole mindset, my thoughts etc. My partner has had it with my moods lately and now I finally have a chance to be strong enough for a stunt like this as I\'m back on the pill & my hormones are level again. Anyone like to do it with me? attempting something similar? sending hope and support.
I\'m right there with you. I feel like I\'ve aged 40 years in the last 10 (I\'m 54).
Like you, I try my best to maintain a Positive Attitude...sometimes I can do it, but on the days that I can\'t...
I have epilepsy, which is probably why my menopause has been so severe (both involving changes in the brain), and epilepsy is a disability that is not obvious until one actually has a seizure. The not being able to drive just magnifies the feelings of Powerlessness that is emphasized by all the menopausal symptoms. I therefore understand how it is to deal with all sorts of other things besides just menopause.
But, as you\'ve said, we\'re still here; we\'re survivors. So here\'s to us, Sister! Sure, we keep getting knocked down, but the main thing is that we keep getting up again!
Here\'s sending you lots of good energy! Promise me to be kind to yourself, and together, we will look forward to the better times that are coming!!
