back from vacation

I just came back from a beautiful vacation in Florida.  We had 8 beautiful days in a lovely beach house in Ft. Myers beach.  It was so wonderful to float around in the ocean, sit on the beach, and relax.  It was also nice to see my family.  The vacation went by so very quickly and I am sad to be back.   However, it is summer and since I don't have to teach, I am definitely taking it more easy.  So much writing and research to do, but I have already decided that if I have a less productive year, it doesn't really matter.  I made tenure this year, so now it is really only my own standards to live up to (which are high, but I can let them slip given the pregnancy).  I think the baby is still doing well.  I am at 17 weeks and had a check-up this week.   Although I am still spotting, the baby's heartbeat was strong still.  Thus, I am still hoping that all will be well.  I have 3 more weeks to survive before the next u/s and the one when we get to find out the gender.  I am hoping for a girl!
