baby steps. help alot.
hello,
i finally earned some sit time after job time. got very behind. usually i water house plants every monday. the peace lilly was begging with her beautiful leaves dragging for some agua. they are now watered.......albeit five days late. trash is in the receptacle at the curb. 4 bags. of trash created by me. ye gads. my dirt footprint is too big....got the mail. sorted it, opened it and laid the bills to one side. let them pray for payment the way i pray for energy. let them work hard for the money.......like we did throughout our lives.
is thare a donna summer song in there somewhere.........she works hard for the money so you better treat her right. is that a naughty song or a tribute to women everywhere. i can't remember.
ended up watching "A Royal Night Out"......via netflix. The princesses are reluctantly granted permission by their royal parents for one night out to celebrate and gain insight on Victory Day.....the younger princess Margaret is played by a silly delightful young lady who does just about everything wrong and seems to be protected by a lucky star......while her sister, the future Queen Elizabeth chases her through hordes of crowds throughout London. The actress playing the young Elizabeth or called Liz Bet by her parents is refreshing, smart......wonderful and one can already see that she will reign with majesty. It was a nice film.......all in all......glad I got to see it.
I did so many chores just like eating lays potato chips, one right after the other. The rain has returned, our air is thick, sticky, muggy, uncomfortable........three more mushrooms have burst forth on the rise further back in the yard. Wonder if my garage will ever get tidied up again......? Cooler weather will prevail at some point and that will be soon enough.
The chicken & potato dish turned out nicely. Delicious despite my undeveloped expertise with spices. It was a wonderful dinner, and breakfast! The cotton is drying, the glassware is getting a steamy hot bath....I put on a twin sweater set in baby pink......and a pair of blue jeans. Comfy and odd considering the weather, but just as easily as I get hot, I cool quickly and need the layering.
Here is a list of chores done beyond what was already mentioned:
Restocked paper napkins, cat food, fresh water for kitties, swept up litter around pan, fresh trash bags for everyone......tidied the frig. tossed old food, prepared more food to care for this patient for the week end and early into next week. cut up celery into sticks, cooked a pound of baby carrots, added a bit of brown sugar and they should be ready to store in a few, made a half batch of chili, cut up turkey hotdogs for quick snacks, cut freshly shucked corn into mini ears.....cooked & stored.
as i tried to cut up the full size ears into little ones my arms seized up.....felt like electrical impulses shocking my forearms, wrists and hands. it subsided.......thankfully, we do not like unpleasant pain. did i just refer to me as a we? i'm afraid i did.
it's overcast......with a definite focus on gloominess. gadzooks. i would like to bake something sweet......but i think i have done enough for one day. truly. done enough.
ahh the baby carrots are stored.....walked around with smell good spray stuff and gave the house a quick lift of fresh scent. not sure if i like it or not......but for whatever reason must admit i like spraying stuff.......silly girl.
just got hit with a backdraft of the stuff.......oh well, this too shall pass. i miss being able to edit my journal......fix it up all tidy and neat. sorry for the slobbiness of it all.
i've had some odd dreams.......a lady left her tiny injured baby with me. i needed to get the baby to the hospital.....but someone menacing ordered me to put the baby in a cardboard box, slide it onto the floor of a very old large sedan back seat floor. on either side were more small children being moved, but not via cardboard box. as soon as i stepped away i was hit with horror, i didn't put holes in the box for the baby to get enough air. how long can a person breathe in a box like that? is it porous or hopeless? although i wasn't in the car, it felt like i was.....an out of body transport kind of dream sequence.
next thing i know i'm standing in a hospitial and know that i am a well trained person in authority at this place. the baby appears on a high countertop and has good healthy pink color unlike before.......the baby lies on his tummy.....one tiny thumb in his perfect tiny mouth.......one of those soft all one piece including footies cover the baby....pale white with blue trim. angelic, cherub like......all hell breaks loose in the hospital. tiny ones are pouring into the hospital.....in the hallways, through the tall towering windows.....from everywhere......they don't appear harmed and something tells me that they have special powers despite their tiny imprint on humanity. special powers, healing.....? kindness, compassion........there aren't any wings, but they seem to glide and fly with ease........it's just that there are so many of them.
what is my purpose here? with these tiny beautiful creatures.......there is nothing like new baby smell......dreams are funny, so much detail and then it dissipates like dew on a hot morning in iowa.
as i was lying there about to go to sleep last night i watched a documentary about flowers coming into bloom right before the viewers eyes........in the backdrop was some lovely piano music........as i watched i pondered the same thought over and over.....with the evidence of daily miracles all around us, why doesn't everyone know who the creator is? it seems so obvious to me.....that he is, that he made this, us........in incredible detail. so much love lavished on the creation......on our design.
tired? yup, you bet.......time to rest again. being up for a couple of hours is exhausting, but i am filled with relief at having food in little containers all ready for meals. l
i would like to make a lemon cake......it would be my first.......and i want to make traditional tres leches cake. i have the recipe to my right, looks like something i could do......i don't think i've ever had this cake.....but it looks like a liglht spongy cake filled with delicious creamy flavors topped with fresh whipped cream......how could a girl go wrong learning to make this to share with loved ones?
the tooth pain is down.........the gland pain is high.......one day at a time. praying for you...........with a clear peace for your day, for your needs. hugs, ruthie, a wonky sparrow in the south

I make Tres Leches cake. It is very good. The sponge cake may seem a bit dry, but the whole idea is that you poke holes in it and pour evaporated milk, condensed milk, and cream over it. Thus, the "tres leches" or "three milks." I took it to a church potluck and the pastor said, "Three milks? Cow's milk, goat's milk and ..... I'm getting kind of scared here." Not to worry, pastor, it's not that kind of "three milks." Love you.
