At the monastery

Still here at the monastery

and the Abbess and I talked about me coming here to stay for a trial period (my suggestion and she liked it.)

It's super relaxed and loving here. I initially projected with my own preconceptions that I had to be completely on razor's edge with deference but I am learning now that I can be completely relaxed and loving here.

There are some folks here who have mental health challenges too but what I am also learning is that I can be stable in my own skin and be giving, in person and not just on this site.:) I still have my challenges to cope with but I feel the enormous blessing of giving to others too.

I am also realizing, as it is so peaceful and relaxed here, that I definitely need some hard work to mix in with the church ministering and peaceful times (they've asked me to support the priest behind the alter).

I need to exercise and live with a kind of discipline, rigor or study. Like, I hope that I would be have time to go into DC to study and appreciate the art there too.

I would have Blue here too and I would focus my energies on being self responsible and doing my duties here and taking care of Blue.

It's all a great honor and a great life experience opportunity.

Sending peace and good vibes.

i wonder if, with a bit of leash training, you might even be able to get blue registered as an emotional support animal. "familiarizing" might be the better word for what it takes to get a cat comfy on a leash, etc., but the principle still carries.

by whatever name, it all goes better when guided by love. love really is all you need, whether cloistered or living large.

so? ? ? have you dug up the tidbits about what credentials you need to enter monastic life?
