Art that’s probably finished

This will be my submission for another art contest this year. Last year’s made it to county, but I havent heard back from them since, so probably not state. It was really anxiety inducing to paint, because I was constantly questioning whether I could possibly win and was generally unconfident. This year, I tried to be different. I experimented with different mediums and new tools. I believed in the power of my idea. 

and, well, here it is! 

 I dried real flowers and glued them on, and used paper to do the girl, the watering can, and the drawers. I used a pallette knife for a lot of the background and did drips, splatters, some scratches. It was really fun to do, and I was excited for art class instead of dreading it. 

The reason I say probably done is because my teacher wants me to do even more with it, though I’m already quite attached to the way it is. We’ll see...

I don’t have much to say about the “meaning” of it, since its kind of self explanatory I think. I think I’m more into the process and the technique and the unique look it produces rather than some meaning or self expressing imbued in it.
