Around the circle we go, again
Well, I had such hopes that the newest medication would be it (at least for a while). Now, I'm not so sure. Last week was great up to the weekend. My husband was running slightly manic; close to the "new normal" set for him in the hospital. He was energetic, loving, motivated, fun to be with. Then the weekend hit and I got "Pissy-man"; irritable, gruff, stand-off-ish, distant. This is stll going on. I guess the medication is working some as mood stablizer. Normally Pissy-man is only around for a few days on the way to either manic or depressed, but this one is lasting much longer. Oh, lucky me. Sigh. While Pissy-man is no fun to be around, depressed husband isn't good either; clingy, totally dependent, non-communicative. How long will that last this time before we get Pissy-man back on the way to the mania-side???? I know there will be some that wonder if we have the right diagnosis since my husband cycles in weeks not months or years, but it is correct and it is exhausting. Right now, I can't tell if I'm on a rollercoaster or ferris wheel (I HATE ferris wheels). Major twists and turns seem to be down at the moment but now we are stuck in an endless loop of manic-angry-depressed-angry-manic-angry-depressed-angry-etc. I love my husband and I know that this is hard on him as well. He probably wants this to end even more than I do. There is just so much to do at work, I miss his support.
I need to remember to take care of myself physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Going to the gym, daily prayer and Bible time, and lunch with a friend is NOT running away from all the stuff needing my attention. These things are just as important as eating or sleeping. (repeat)

My husband is also cycling weekly it seems. Really hoping we find the right combinations of meds to help him level out! Hope things improve for you as well.
