Are You Kidding
I spoke to my aunt today. She wanted to know about my new boyfriend. I don't have one. In my mind I'm still married to my husband who passed away four years ago. Turns out dear old dad told her this. He also said that this man and I had been to his house and he didn't like him.
What the bleeping heck? How can anyone be so warped. First of all, there is no man. Second, if I had a man it's not his business to spread around. Third, hell would freeze over before I would take a man over to see him. He'd probably shoot the poor guy.
What the heck?

A part of Demenia (there are all types) is this type of confusion.. They do not believe they have aged (often seeing themselves as 20 or 25) So when they see theirselves in the mirror it is a stranger ( another man or woman) in their house.. It is very scary and confusing.. He is living in another world I know this is difficult.. A friend that has worked with Dementia her whole hursing carreer, is finding it very difficult to giveher son-in-law any patience. (he had a stroke a few years ago) She is always angry and can not understand his behaviors. She was always very gentle with others. So I know it is very difficult when it is family..
Be patient with yourself and him.. Everything will work out one way or another. I will continue praying for you... God is testing you.... You can pass this..
so sorry this is happening to you....keeping you in my thoughts and prayers..hugs, Sandi
Its part of his illness making up stories and telling other people his creation. The only problem with it is that they believe he is telling them the truth. This is not correct. Are you going to phone your aunt to let her know or not. The choice is yours. At least this is not a bad story he could be telling about you. Its none of anyone\'s business but your own. All the best in coping the best you can with your father\'s stories from DB
