April 8
My plan for the day:
- Attend studio 9-11
- Exercise, shower, and have lunch11-1
- Work on history, studio 1-4
- Attend history discussion 4-6
- Work on physics 6-8
- draw and relax/get a head start on something else 8-12
I ended up not showering during lunch break because I played games for an hour because I was feeling stressed from studio. I overshot my break by about 40 minutes, feeling depressed and sluggish but determined to get some excercise done. I watched the history discussion I missed from tuesday for an hour and a half, then took a break at 3:30 and took a shower. I got back for today's history discussion at 4 and attended that until 6, and it was very interesting and made much more fun by my teachers humor and historical anecdotes, and my classmates blowing up the chat with jokes and I joined in with them. After that, instead of physics, I worked on history and studio work until 10 instead of 8. I was tempted to stop at 8, but the studio homework is due tomorrow at 9 and I know I wouldn't wake up in time or have any motivation in the morning to do it. So I pushed myself a little and assured me that it wouldn't be so bad, just get into the mood. So I went and measured things around my house (a stair railling, a lamp) and drew sections of them, then extruded them as 3D models as per the assignment. Weird, for sure, but my education has been weird generally so far. And I also read 18 pages of stuff for history and answered some questions. All in all... I spent most of the day on history stuff. I enjoyed revisiting all those hallowed crazy stories from the past.
Now it's my end of the day break, and I have no motivation to draw today. I think I'd be pushing myself a bit much if I did that, and I'm not at the point where I can find drawing relaxing. I have been building that habit of squirreling away time at the end of the day to work on the comic, as well as editting time lapses of me drawing it and other art things in general. The goal is having work stop at 8 and spend the four hours until sleep doing whatever I want - with art commitments or self-care such as excercise and showering necessarily taking up some of that time. Today it obviously stretched for longer, but that's fine. It'll have to be flexible.
Instead of drawing I set up the next comic page for the time lapse and also airdropped the videos for the last time lapse to my computer... which actually took a while as my phone had to downlod them two hours worth of film and then send it to my computer. So I just continued reading Inheritance. It's the last book of a more mature fantasy series I loved in my childhood, and I love it now too as an adult revisiting it and seeing it in a different light. The heroes defeated the evil king and are now rebuilding.
I hope tomorrow goes okay too and that I'm not too tired. I want to feel confident in the time it takes to work, that I can finish work.
