Anxiety and Panic
So today I woke up after not much sleep due to anxiety, panic and a sick son and I feel so much anxiety and panic. It has been raining here and now my roof is leaking. There are so many things that need to be fixed on our home. I have tons of friends/family who have been helping but I feel like we cant keep up on what needs to be done. I guess one day at a time is all I can ask for. Please, please God let the sun shine on us today and help my son to feel better. Keep all of us grieving widows and widowers in your hands and give us peace in our hearts.
Hugs to all today!

Hi Jen. I\'m Lori and I\'m coming up on the 1 year anniversary of my husbands death. I\'m 57 and have 2 grown children. I remember well the early days of anxiety and panic and being unable to sleep. And the widow brain too. It does get better. Hang in there an keep taking it a day at a time. If it gets too overwhelming you might need to see your doctor and get on medication just to get you through this rough patch. For me I started to function and sleep after about 4 months. I wound up going on meds, but now I\'m t\'s so overwhelming to be a widow. The repairs, the bills, the fear, the loneliness...and the grief and missing your husband. You are right on schedule with it all my friend. Hang in there!!!!
Sorry I should have proofread before I hit enter....I wound up going on meds after a few months of not coping well. But now that I\'m at a year and things are more stable I\'m weaning off of them. Becoming a widow is the hardest thing I\'ve ever gone through. Once I was able to sleep things started getting better and my nerves were less frayed. I also found a local support group and that has been very helpful. Everything you\'re experiencing is normal. We\'ve all gone through it. It is frightening when you first become widowed. Hang in there and stay strong. There are better days ahead.
Aloha ~ Lori
Jen, I totally agree with Lori . unfortunately you are \"right on schedule\". All that you have mentioned has happened to most of us here. As the old saying goes, when it rains, it pours. Breathe. I also have had my fair share of anxiety and panic attacks through all of this . . and I got medicated also. Not heavily medicated. I feel \"normal\", just helps take the edge off when needed. Talk to your doc. I do hope your son feels well soon. Hugs and prayers to you. xo Dayna
Jen,
The initial stages of grief are so overwhelming, you can be numb yet at night,
Everything seems to come full force, plus you have a little one who is sick.hence no sleep.
All that adds up to stress and anxiety. Thank God you have help to deal with the home front, which is creating more anxiety. It will all get done in the end.
Please Jen take some deep breaths to help clear your mind. Give yourself time to relax. You Will Get Through This!!! One little step at a time. If I can do, you can I promise.
Thinking of you,....hugs to you this Mother\'s Day.
Thank you all so much for your kind words. Its helpful to know I am not alone. I sure wish we could all get together for a coffee and a cry. Or something stronger and a cry! I am so thankful for finding this group!
