antsy

I just got a text from my granddaughter.  As you may have heard, she is expecting twins on the 10th of next month.  She had an ultrasound and saw her obstetrician yesterday and apparently, she is showing some signs indicating that she may deliver sooner.  She got some medications to strengthen the girls' lungs etc.  She was told to stay off her feet as much as she can.  The babes are 4 pounds each which is a good weight.  However, Cevyn was born a month early and was in the NICU because her lungs were not developed - she didn't need to be intubated but was in an incubator with a plastic hood over her head with oxgen pumped in.  I am going to be talking to her in the morning.

We will be headed to Branson tomorrow.  I am nervous and excited.  I feel so unready.  However I know Sally will be wonderful.  It will be great to see people I haven't seen since last year and some new moms too.  It will be a small group which is fortunate for us who will be there, but those who couldn't make it will be missing out.

We have been enjoying our time in Missouri.  Joe really enjoyed Hannibal.  He has been a Mark Twain fan forever.  We visited his adult home in Hartford a few years back, so it was fun to see where he grew up.

We spent the last 2 days driving Route 66.  Joe got a book with places along the way.  We stayed in Cuba, Missouri - not in the Caribbean - last night.  We stayed at one of the original motels - the room was small but authentic.  We are in Lebanon tonight at a not so authentic Rt. 66 hotel, the Holiday Inn.  We have been enjoying Southern food and hospitality.  I have had pulled pork before and didn't care too much for it.  However it was great here.  Tonight it was catfish, beans and okra - yum!

I had the weirdest dream last night.  It was exhausting actually.  In it I missed a meeting, got angry with my neighbour (who is the sweetest lady I know), went skinny dipping with another friend whose husband was having an affair - it went on and on.  It wasn't scary and I had to smile when I woke up.  I did manage to go back to sleep for awhile which was good because I really did feel pooped!

Lisa has been with us.  So many birds and butterflies and just her presence.

She will be with us at the retreat I am sure.

Lisa:  I hope you are watching over Cevyn, your pride and joy, your peanut as she embarks on her journey as a mom.  I really really wish you were with her in person.  I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

I am a bit jealous of all your travels and yet happy to hear you and Joe are enjoying all these sites. Since the retreat will be a small group, it will be so good for all of you to really connect. I so enjoyed Bpston, but with so many it was hard to get to know everyone in the time we had. Maybe another one someday.
I know you are nervous for your granddaughter. I will be thinking of her as she starts this most wonderful journey and I am sure her Mom will be right at her side. Be well, have fun and can't wait to hear about the trip. Peace, Kathy

Sending great thoughts to your granddaughter. Glad you are looking forward to the meetup. Yes, dreams can sure be strange at times. I think it is our lives trying to sort it all out. :-)

Have a wonderful time at the retreat and I know that Joe and you always enjoy your travels that you include in and around the retreat. Of course you are feeling antsy about Cevyn and those babies. Sending much love to all and hoping they remain in the womb for as long as possible.

Tight heartfelt (((hugs))) dear Marlene and savor the time with your sisters of the heart as I know you will.

Will be thinking of Cevyn and the babies and saying a prayer.

Sounds like you're having a great time! Sorry to be missing the retreat!

I love pulled pork! Roger bought a smoker this summer and we've been experimenting with lots of pork butts, ribs, beef brisket and fish recipes! Lots of fun and lots of good food!

Dreams can be so funny sometimes!

Lots of love to you, Lisa, Cevyn and the babies! And Joe too, LOL!
