another young woman has gone home

Amy Winehouse, the singer, passed away yesterday at 27. Too young, such a shame and already the cruel jokes. I read on FB "well I guess somebody should have gone to rehab", in a reference to one of her songs. Well, no matter what she passed from people should have respect. Such a young and talented woman and no one wants to grow up & be an addict. Addiction is not a lifestyle choice & people should have more compassion. This young woman lost her life and her mother & family are grieving. Sigh...I just had to get that off my chest.
Miss Winehouse - may you rest in peace in God's loving arms....

I didn\'t know anything oft her either, but the moment I heard the story on the morning news today, my thoughts immediately went to her parents......I think of parents who have lost their children, no matter what age, so much more now than I used to before I lost my Erik. There are so many.............

A tragedy for sure - regardless of the reason - another family to grieve the loss of a child. A loss is a loss - We all KNOW that pain! May have family have peace and privacy!

So true Linda! The first thing I thought of when I heard the news was about her mom. People can be so heartless....they need to think about the grieving family left behind. Thanks for sharing.....Hugs, Kim

Such a tragic loss of another beloved daughter filled with heartache and unanswered questions for those left behind. Thank you for the reminder, Linda, of our choice to come from our hearts in non judgment. Big hugs, Joanie

One of my oldest son\'s friends\' in NYC that I am friends with on FB made a similar post....quoting her lyrics ...so sad that they do not see the whole picture...only her as an icon...not the whole person that had a family, loved...and yes, was an addict.
