Hey Gang,
There were also lots of high school bands and fire trucks from around the country. I saw a fire truck from Asbury Pk NJ and a marching band from Nebraska that came to celebrate. one downside, I found, was there were a lot of politicians there. Their people were handing out fans and other political stuff. I did see VA governor and one of our congressman. And someone was hoping I would vote for them. I think she was running for county clerk for the courts. I could have done without the politics, but overall it was a great day. I grabbed a hotdog on my way out to have for lunch.

Hi Linda, thank you for sharing about your experience and adventure at the 4th of July parade :) it's great, you saw some great sights, and enjoying the spirit of the day :) i'm sorry there were some ongoing things there, with the advertising, of the politicians, i completely understand, as that definitely could/did serve as a distraction. You handled the situation very well, and i'm so glad, and thankful you were still able to enjoy the parade :)

Oh yeah the politicians are always at things like that. Parade sounded nice, we just have to put up with them being there!
Ugh, politicians. They can spoil everything. Sometimes it's nice to get away from all of that nonsense. I'm glad you enjoyed the day anyway!
