Another Stupid Phone Call
So my brother calls me again, this time just after nine at night. It is while I am choking because of sinus problems and I had just been on the phone for over an hour talking and my throat had given out on me.
He says, "I was trying to call Lisa (our sister) and she did not answer the phone."
I said, "I was on the phone with her."
He continues talking over me, "Your phone was busy for a long time..."
(because I croaked out the last sentence weakly because I could not talk.)
"What", he says,
"I was on the phone with her," I say more clearly and more loudly and with some irritation for having to say it again.
"Well her phone rang, "he tells me.
"I don't know why it would do that," I say.
"Does she have call waiting?" he asks"
"I have no idea," I annswer.
Ok, talk to you later, he ends with and so I hang up.
So why did he calling me? Do I have magic powers to know why she is not answering the phone or where she may be or why she does not answer every time he calls her? He lives the same distance from her as I do so if he was worried why did he not drive over there? Instead he calls me. it seems, more than once and over a long period of time since he knew my phone was busy for a long time.
What the hell? I don't understand why he calls me for all these stupid little things. I have told him again and again I don t like getting phone calls. I don't understand why he thinks I would know something like this which I have no reason or ability to know. He visits her and does more with her than I do. this kind of thing is driving me crazy.
