Another Storm Outage
Well it's Friday. Wishing it was 5:00 already. Has my granny always told me "You are wishing your life away." Last night I was home alone except for Savanna (dog). John was sent out to Washington DC to help restore the power there. He works for a subcontractor under Progress Energy here. He has been with them for 25 years.. So he left yesterday afternoon and has no idea when he will come home. I didn't even get to see him before he left. I really don't like being home by myself. I am just used to him being there. Someone to talk to. As my 11 year old nephew said last night to express my feelings to. So John and I weekend plans have been shot. We were planning on riding to Wilmington on Saturday. There is something that John wants to go see about to help him quit smoking. I pray that maybe we can make it and it will help him kick the habit. So, I guess instead of hanging out with him, I can clean up the house tomorrow morning and burn the roads with my brother and cousin. Just rambling this morning needed someone to talk to and I knew I could count on you guys. Happy Friday and Have a great weekend. Love you all.

Hey Sweetie, you can talk to me, even though I\'m at work too. I hate to be alone too, I usually just go to sleep! Me and the rock quit smoking right after new years, 3 weeks now, just now barely getting over the \"give me a darn cigarette\" stage. LOL Sorry your plans for the weekend were ruined and I hope he comes home soon, like tonight! I\'m going to send you my phone number in a message, I\'d love to hear from you this weekend if your too lonely. No doubt with Barb\'s situation and other stresses we could use a good sobbing phone call from a friend, I know I could. Love you Rhonda! Lynette ~ Matthews mom
Your comment about \"wishing our lives away\" really hit me this morning. I think so much of my grief journey has been just that and I\'m trying to really look at this now. Oh, our grannies are wise aren\'t they? I understand too what you mean about being alone and I hope your hubby will be home safe and sound soon. Gentle care this day and so glad that you journaled. :) Love, Joanie
I know how hard it is to quit smoking, it\'s the hardest thing to quit...I smoked since High School, I didn\'t start trying to quit until I was in my 40\'s. I tried about a thousand times..I had quit smoking for over 2 years, before Ryan left this earth. One year after his death I started again..I\'ve tried another 100 times in the last year. I finally quit for 6 weeks now.. The patches worked for me, it helped me from going crazy..But I found out by trying to quit, it is all about really wanting to quit.. And when the feeling comes on strong that I want smoke, I have to follow it through, then the desire goes away..I gave in so many times, to those darn nasty dirty things, which would cling to my clothes, yuk,yuk,yuk...Everytime I tried to quit, I swear God would put people into my life, seeing them with a Oxygen tank, and it would scare me so much, I found myself talking to God, asking God, if this was him putting these people into my life for a reason..lol. I think that stuck in my mind for along time..So when I started to not breath very well, I would ask God to help me Quit...I will pray for John to quit smoking, he\'s gonna need all he can get.. It isn\'t easy!.....Have a good weekend!! love to you, Kelly
hang in there, honey! you got us to talk to!! love ya!!
We are always here my friend.. whenever you need us. love you
Talk away anytime you need to...we are here for you...Hugs, Ann
I don\'t really wish my life away, but I no longer find the swift passage of time to be as scary as it was. I hope John is home soon. But please tell him that we are thankful for the help here in the DC area. It is so cold and so much snow and people need heat. It has been such a wet and icy snow and is very heavy. As of today, Saturday, many are still without. I have no idea how they are staying warm! I was very fortunate. Only flickering of lights a couple of times. So a big kudos to those who come to aid. I hope John is making decent money! And best wishes on quitting smoking. I know I need to make that decision one of these days! Hugs, Belinda
