Another Opportunity
When it rains, it pours apparently...fortunately, sometimes the rain is soothing and filled with love. I was offered another job...another great job! I have accepted the job with Life Management and will give it my best shot but it is really nice to know that if it isn't a proper "fit" I have other options...including just not working at all.
I am very fortunate to have a successful husband that is able to provide so well for me. There is no financial reason to work...just feeling like I am doing good work, job satisfaction...and it does seem a bit odd to consider the fact that at 43 and 48 my husband and I will be "retired". He has worked 25 hard years to earn his retirement...he had to move around, carry more responsibility than anyone should have to carry...however we now see how much it payed off... his retirement income will leave us very comfortable. We have much to be grateful for and even after all we have been through, we are.
Another interesting offer...I have been asked to do an interview about Cassi's suicide. Since I basically pour my heart out on my journals and posts, most of which are available to anyone, I wonder if I have anything more to say...uhmmm...yeah, a lot. What I need to consider is how painful reliving those early days will be...how painful reliving the hard times she endured...the hard times I endured. As all grieving mothers know, there is the "before" life and the "after" life. For me, the "before" was basically running on autopilot. My main focus was Cassi, as it should be, and getting her through just one more day, then one more day, then one more day. There was nothing more important. The "after", in those early days, was getting myself through one more day, then one more day. The worst of the pain, it waxes and wanes...I get so much support from my family and friends...and my sisters...my biological sister, of course, then my other sisters...my SOTHS. Now, even though my heart breaks all over again when we get a new mom, I am so grateful to be in a place where I can be the one offering support. It is truly a blessing, to me anyway, to help others...it's where I feel I am called.
Okay, I got off track a little...back to the interview. If there is a way I can do it that will help other young people suffering from depression, then OF COURSE I want to do it. I will do ANYTHING I am capable of...here's the catch...how do I tell her story without expressing my anger?? I believe I have relatively little anger, however, it IS there...and I don't know if it will be possible to explain myself without it. There might be collateral damage, both to my state of mind and definitely to others. Do I WANT to dredge up all the drama??? There was a time I wanted nothing more than to hurt others who had hurt me and worse, had hurt Cassi. Now, I don't even like to think of those times, of those people...it was bad enough to live through it, now to relive it??? Big decision...even bigger than which job to take...or any job to take as opposed to sleeping in every day with my furbabies...sigh...Any advice appreciated, just please sent it to me in private messages because, well, you know why.
