ANOTHER DAY OF SMOKE
Hello to all my DS friends. Well we are in the third day of dangerous pollution from the forest fires to our north. I will be so glad when things have cleared up. We have been told by the weather forecasters that the air direction is changing today and it will hopefully take the smoke out of here. I am so tired of staying in the house with the windows closed as well as all the doors closed. The pollution is so bad that we got an email from our doctor warning us to stay inside since it was definitely unsafe for us to be outside. The smoke is actually so bad that we can't even see our neighbor's house. Not to mention the smell is terrible. We are also supposed to get severe storms today and that should help with the air quality as well. Our air quality is code magenta, which is the highest it can possible go. All sporting events as well as a number of festivals in our area have been cancelled because it is unsafe for everyone to be out in this pollution.
Well other than the smoke, we have had some excitement this week as well. Our friendly bear has made an appearance again this week and this time he was in our yard and we got a picture of him. He has been back the last two nights as well. The first night he got our bird feeders and ate the grape jelly that was in them. So now we are bringing them in the house at night. But he still tries to get nto the dumpster every night. The guys have used ratchet straps and tied it down so he can't get in it. The first night before they tied it down, he emptied it and we had garbage on the road and up in the woods. It was the night before the garbage came so it was almost full. He had a lot of fun that night but so far the straps have kept him out of it and we haven't had a mess to clean up.
We also have a been enjoying all the birds we have this year. We have a number of oriales and the little hummingbirds still flit around the deck attacking us when we sit out there. The deer continue to come into the yard and are so pretty. We have a lot of clovr in our yard and they really like to chomp on it in the evenings and early mornings. The rabbits and chipmunks still amuse us with their antics. I love to watch the rabbits chasing each other. They are so cute.
John has been doing really well. I am so excited that his health has improved so much over the last six months considering how sick he was just a short while ago. His specialists are really pleased with his progress. It is a pain to follow the diet but as long as it helps it is worth the effort. I have to say I have found a lot of ways to fix chicken. I am also glad that he likes fish cause that does add something different to the diet. I have gotten a couple of really good recipes for fixing fish.
I hve been busy crocheting. I made two prayer shawls for friends of mine and I have around 20 hats made for Samartan's Purse. I found a new pattern for hats that is speeding up the process. I got behind in making them with John being sick so hopefully I can get at least fifty of them made by October. I still have another prayer shawl to make and I found a new pattern that I want to make. I love trying new patterns. I get bored if I make on more than twice. It is so rewarding to crochet for charity.
Well that is about all I have for now. I hope all of you stay safe and those of you in the smoke zone, please stay safe.
Here is the bear that keeps visiting us. The guys estimate him to be around 500 pounds. This was taken in our yard above our house next to the woods. He was on his way to the dumpster.

The bears huge! He’s been around dumpsters eating and it shows.
When is bear season?
He could make many meals for hungry people!
What a good hobby and purpose in your life to crochet for Samaritan's Purse non-profit. That is a really good foundation that helps a lot of people with medical issues around the world in disasters and such.
Very glad John is doing better health wise. I love the bear photo. And I hope the smoke dies down. We are in the season here of dust blowing from the Sahara and we are in southern USA. It gives people sinus issues.
