Anne Died
My ex-husband's wife died yesterday. She and I were not good buddies for a long time but we had been able to put our differences behind us and had become friends over the past 8 years.
She was a strong woman - she had to be to live with my ex. She raised my son when I was unable to do so because of my alcoholism - and I am very grateful for that. Don't get me wrong - I raised him for the first years of his life and I did a very good job at that - but when I was lost in my alcoholism - she was there and she did a good job with my son.
Anne was funny, clever, and very good at what she did. She did well in real estate, she was an expert decorator, she knew her antiques and bought them wisely.
Anne was one of those people that is not easily forgotten. She laughed loudly - she loved a good joke - and she was very smart.
I didn't get down to see Anne before she died - I had intended to.
This tells me to never let a moment go by because of my petty concerns about myself and my security. It tells me to just do it - and worry about the BS later.
Life's precious moments are far too few to let them go by without paying attention to them.
Damn I wish I had gotten down there to see Anne before she died - she is someone I will not forget.

I am sure she knows how much you loved and appreciated her.. let me know if I can be of any comfort...so very saddened by your loss.
Linda my dear friend ,my heart goes out to you ,i`m so sorry for your loss....
I know you feel sad because you were unable to reach your friend before she died ,but somehow i feel she knew you were with her ,in spirit and friendship..
This wonderful Lady came into your lives at a low point ,when you truly needed a confidente...a true friend and ally ,who would offer the love and support you needed ,without making you feel awkward or inadequate..
It`s a testimonial to the character of you both ,that you achieved ,out of a deep need for someone to reach out to and help you ,both with your precious son ,and your own problems..
From what you have written about Anne ,she was a remarkable lady........married to your ex husband ,(usually a trying if not strained relationship for most ppl).....she then saw you were struggling ,and stepped into your shoes for a while ,(without treading on your toes..so to speak.....)....Not only did she take over the reigns ,as it were ,and help bring up your son ,but in doing so ,created a very special friendship between you both...To be able to form such a close bond ,under those circumstances ,shows the emense strength of character of both you ladies..
Knowing this i feel Anne would have felt you with her when she made her final journey...she knew her friend would be with her in spirit and in friendship....often with such special trusted relationships ,words are not neccessary ,the bond you will always have with this wonderful lady ,will i hope ,help you through the weeks ahead ,as you come to terms with your loss..
Sending you love ,prayers and comforting hugs my friend ,i`m here for you if i can help in any way....take care ,love always ,sharon xoxoxoxoo
This is a wonderful tribute to Anne Linda ,i know she would be greatly touched by your words.
(nb...Sorry ,am having computer probs at the moment ,seems my comment is rather muddled ,i hope anyways ,that you get the gist of what i`m trying to convey.....my deepest sympathies ,and love ,xoxoo sharon
