anglican church
I am so lonely, at least I am realizing that. I am realizing that you can't like everything about somebody
and for some reason with that reality (shown on me too towards myself) - the veil of self indulgence that was masking the loneliness is opening and it's coming
to me that it's time to get involved with community. We have community here on the site but I need the 'in person' kind.
Taking care of my brother's dog has been really health giving. I can't imagine, or maybe I can imagine a bit, how much
effort caring for a child might take and how much love it would involve. Now that my brother is not here, I have come
to be nourtured by the creature who I am nourturing...Nina the wonder dog. I go to my parents' in an hour or so.
I feel like I am learning a lot while Denis is gone (my brother) and being given big responsibilities (Nina.)
Life's a strange thing. I am 50 years old and feel like I am learning things that I wish I had learned in my 20s so that I could have been a Papa.

I forgot to add that I think I am going to check out the local Anglican Church to find community. I don't know why.
There's a Polish Catholic Church too - but I think I like the liberality of the Anglicans. Just experimenting.
And since you are experimenting, it's okay to try both churches and as many others as you want. Still. . . It isn't "community" until you pick one, forgive the warts attached and make ^it^ work. Glad you Nina teach you some things.
The life lessons I would have to teach my younger self fall more to,the end of passing on the parenting experience. Even with the harsh reality that we outlive our dogs and have to help them die, it's still less confusing than parenting.
I tried a buddhist prayer group for a while too. I liked the one in Malibu but never returned because I moved - the one here in Westlake was not to my liking - but so it goes. I will try both churches maybe.
