If it's someone you love... it's hard to close the door... I'm not sure it's always the right thing to do... close the door I mean... My son punished me for nearly 20 years for leaving his dad... but I never closed the door... and even though our relationship is difficult... I am grateful we talk to one another... Problem some people don't recognize when they decide to punish someone... while they may not lose the person altogether.... the relationship may be damaged... more likely than not... beyond repair... I walk on eggshells... so afraid of making my son angry... I doubt the relationship is easy for either of us...

I am so sorry. You are doing all you can. It still hurts like Hell. All you can do is be there for him. It would be a heck of a lot easier if you didn't love him. Some day we will have to have a long chat.
