And Now For Something Completely Different
Well, I've done the semi part of retirement. I left my permanent job back in March and have worked full-time since then. My intentions have always been to be semi-retired. So, now for the retirement part. I want to be off in the winter. I'd planned to take off after Christmas, but my latest assignment just ended and I heard snow is coming. I'm thinking, why not take off work in November and come back around March. I don't know. It's sort of scary because what if the temp agency forgets me by then. Which brings up another point.
I was reading about people who've retired but returned to work. They did it because they were afraid to retire. They didn't need the money. It's just that their whole identity was tied in to work. It was who they were. I think that's why I keep working. Anyhow, I'm also thinking I should work on just being retired. Find something else to do that is meaningful.
Just a thought at this point.

I thought when I retired life would be slow and easy. Well guess what I have been busier than ever. Between working at the senior center and keeping the house and yard up, going to work is easy. There are plenty of groups that would love some help. You just have to find which one appeals. Good luck !
You can take courses, volunteer as there are a lot of agencies who need more volunteers, work part-time, find a hobby doing something you love, learn a new skill etc. There are a lot of things to do when you are retired. I am not bored. I babysit my grandson and hang out with my friend Dave. I have an almost full life now being uncomfortably retired I could use an extra $500 - $1000 per month but I am getting by. I love being retired except for the money part Its fun. I can do what I want when i want to. There are things out there if you just want to keep busy. Let me know how it goes.
I like the do what I want, when I want but with things going up every month I could use extra money but I\'m doing.....getting by with what I have, just tighten up the belt a little. good luck in what ever you do....hugs, Sandi
