Am I wasting my time?

As I spend this rainy afternoon working on a Shutterfly book for DD29's 30th birthday (in September), I started to wonder - am I wasting my time?
I had decided before DD31 turned 30 that for each of my daughters' 30th birthdays, I would make them a Shutterfly book of pictures from birth - high school graduation.  Once they left home, I really don't have many pictures.  Anyway, remembering my DD31's reaction to her book, I have to wonder if I'm doing it all for nothing.  She never even called and thanked me.  When I did talk to her after her birthday, all I got was, "Why did it stop at my high school graduation?"  No, thank you...no sense of appreciation whatsoever.
I told my supervisor who is 29 what I was doing for my daughters and she (who is VERY close to her mother) said, "If my mother had done something like that for me, I would be SO appreciative and thankful.  I thought, yes...so would I have had my mother done something like that.  But...not so with my children apparently.  Of course it makes me wonder what I, as a mother, did wrong to raise children to be so unappreciative.  I do take on some of this myself, but they are all adults now and I thought that memories of their childhood would be meaningful.
I also made a Shutterfly book for DD29 after her bridal shower last year of her shower and she didn't seem all that appreciative either. All she said was, "When I saw the Shutterfly box, I knew it was from you, Mom."  That's it.  Nothing more.
So, I sit here thinking, why do I bother?  Dh even just said, "They don't care."  sigh  I guess I hope someday, they will look back at the little things I did out of love and be appreciative THEN (like after I'm gone).
When DSGS7 was over Thursday night, dh and I noticed what good manners he had...said please and thank you many times to us. I taught mine to do the same. I wonder where along the line they lost their manners?
Am I wasting my time?

Well every person is different, so you did it for the other two, your last one might really like it.

Good point. I need to continually remind myself how much DD31 is like her father.
