Am I Crazy?

I think I may be going loopy.  Lately I seem to be becoming the ridiculously protective parent I never wanted to be.

Whenever my daughter is out of my sight I have terrible pictures in my head of bad things happening.  I've gotten to the point where I wake up and check on her almost every hour at night.  When we are in the car, if she stops talking I have to lean my seat back to check on her.  I don't want people to do anything new with her...even if I know deep down her chances of harm are slim to none.  I don't understand why this is happening.  She's nine months old...and she is getting to the point where she wants to be more independant and do things on her own.

My fiancee is getting fed up with it too.  I always cringe when he want's to do something with her, or when he feeds her anything as his chunks are way bigger then the ones I give her.  She doesn't choke on the chunks he gives her, I know this, but I can't stop worrying!  The other day at the local indoor pool he wanted to take her down the waterslide.  It's a slow slide, ending in four inches of water, it would of been perfectley safe, and she probably would of loved it, but I begged him not too.  And while I begged I knew I was being silly!

I hope this is a stage that I outgrow!  I feel nutty!
