Also decided...
I also decided to not be counting days - - -just one day at a time; I can handle that! I found some information on-line through some u-tube videos about compulsive gambling; the segment that was shown interviewed three people who were now recovering CG's telling their stories; listening to those people actually sounding like me and thinking that the machine just HAS to pay off, loading more and more money into them... and one thing that was interesting - one person had gone for some counseling and in the sessions talked about doing a guided meditation where you visualize yourself making plans to go to the casino... going going going and then pulling back and "NOT" going... anyway, at the point where you do that (on a deeper level due to the relaxation), it is giving your brain the message of power, control, YOU are controlling the urges, desire to go there and somehow it works. She wasn't really sure how, but it helped her.
I know that "self-hypnosis" is very powerful - I have used it for sports/activities that I have done over the years... for example, bowling, and golf... in Bowling, when you have put yourself in a receptive state through relaxation techniques, your subconscious mind is willing to accept what you put in, so I remember this one time, on the night of my bowling league, I did the tape- visualized my approach and the ball going down the lane and going straight for the one-three pocket for a strike - each and every time.
Bottom line - I went to bowling that night an bowled 7 strikes in a row!!!!! I stayed in that controlled and focused state until people realized that I was on my way to a perfect game and were coming around watching. At that point, I lost the edge but still ended up bowling a score of 252!! 300 being perfect. :]
Thanks for reading this - it was fun reliving that experience. I am going to try this tip that I was given in the gambling video.
Have a great day, everyone!

I think that is the same thing Michael Phelps does. I just read a book called
The Power of Habit that was totally fascinating. They talked about how his coach tells him to \"play the tape, till the end\". Great stuff you got here Smokey. Why not on the big board? Just wondering..Great game! [Bowling]. You rock! Love ~E
